Jester Vs Pivot 14

Looking at the jesters or pivots. I am stuck between the two. I see the jester has a lower stand height than the pivot but i am not sure how much that affects skiing with only a 2mm difference. One think that really turned me away from the pivot is how the brake is integrated into the binding so its not a simple brake swap. Maybe it is im not quite sure. Will be in the park 99% of the time and the other 1% is taking trails to get to the park. Right now I am at a 8 din on my griffons. I think this year I will bump up to a 10 depending on what my recommended din is.

Your recommended DIN is 8. Unless you are releasing when you shouldn't be don't change it. If you don't need to change it, the Jesters might be overkill for you and sticking with Griffons, STH 13's, or the FKS/Pivot 140 would save you a little cash and still work great. I personally think Rossis don't hold your boot in as well so I'd go with on of the others. Also, don't bump your DIN directly to 10 if you change it. Try something in between and see how that works for you. But like I said, if you aren't having problems with ejecting don't change your DIN.

Stand height won't be noticeable. 2 mm is not a huge difference.

As for brakes, they don't break very often. Just buy bindings that have brakes that fit your ski properly so you don't have to bend them. When you click in the brakes are pulled towards the center of the ski to give more clearance. If you bend them they stick out funny.

I'd go for the Jesters.

They're a good quality binding and they are durable. Finding and replacing brakes on the FKS is difficult and expensive (like $80 or something for one new brake).

Also don't set your DIN to 10, that is excessive. Around 7 or 8 would be good.

Are you set on these two bindings do you have a good deal on them or something? The Tyrolia Attack 13's are cheaper and just as good as the Jesters or FKS.
