Jester squeaking noise

So, I have last years Jester model on my JJ's, and I often experience some sort of squeaking noise in the toepiece. As far as I know, I'm not the only one to experience this, but I also remember reading something about it probably being fixed on this years model. So does anyone know if this years Jesters has the same noise in the toepiece? I don't think it affects the performance, but if I'm going to put them on my park skis (which i use most of the time I ski) it would be rather annoying, and I would probably get some 4frnt/Tyrolia bindings instead.

I had the same problem... you bent the pin that connects the toe piece to the plate. I showed the marker rep, and he told me that this was covered. so I got a new toe-piece.

you are going to buy new bindings because your current ones squeak? can you just give them to me?

Your fucking kidding me. Your gonna go from Jesters to tyrolias? or 4frnts? downgrade man... huge downgrade. deal with the squeaking. Its probably just a little bit of play. As long as the bindings still hold you in and release when needed, your good.

my sister had the same prob on her griffons so she got new bindings. if i were you i would get some 4frnts and give your jesters to me. or sell them to me. just to seal the deal i just rated you 10/10.

i disagree lol

tyrolia makes really great bindings. i was a binding tech at a shop and have worked on way too many bindings. and out of all the bindings i've worked on... tyrolia was always towards the top of my favorites list, consistency, and quality. these reasons all making them the world's largest ski binding manufacturer.

and i agree with seaburn. go to a shop and have them looked at. most likely they will be able to warranty your toe piece. and at least have the bindings Binding Release Checked aka BRC'd for safety.

I guess was a bit unclear in my first post. I'm not planning on replacing the jesters I have on my JJ's, I'm just trying to figure out what bindings to choose for the park skis I'm buying this season. I would never get new bindings because of a squeaking noise, but if I can buy bindings that won't squeak in the first place, I'd might rather do that.

And regarding the higher DIN 4frnt/Tyrolia bindings (which I believe are the same), I've never really heard anything bad about them.

I believe its caused from slop between the boot toe and binding, the new years toe piece has been lowered a mm or so to compensate for this. Im sure they will warranty them, marker seems pretty good on warranty clamis. the jester is a great binder, get it fixed and save some $$$$.

That's what I thought aswell, and what I remember reading earlier. I also remember trying to figure out where the noise came from, and I believe it was because the boot didn't fit 110% snug in the toepiece, with just enough play to make the noise. (or something like that, it's been a while since I checked it) I probably won't bother doing anything about the jesters on my JJ's, but if marker changed the toepiece to fix the problem this year, I'd probaly end up with Jesters on my new park skis.

I'm sure they fixed it. It was a small problem and it saves them having to deal with warranty claims. If they warrantied a fair amount with that problem, then I am willing to bet that they were fixed. Stick with Jesters, I love them, such a solid binding.

yea boots like dalbello with very thin toe pieces (cant remember the proper name) or very worn soles experienced noise.
