should have won

Maybe, maybe not.....I mean, Matej should have won X Big Air 'cos it's on the score sheet in black & white. This is more grey area.

I agree with one of the youtube comments, it's nice to see some creativity and style win a podium position!

Yeah but did he podium because of it? The Results Analysis makes no distinction for blender, just says sw right 2 on and sw right dub 14.

Nah i dont think blender is really a style thing, thats not what I was talkin about. I was referring to his shifty off a rail instead of a spin, the triple whackflip over some cork 16, and just his unique creative run done so cleanly

Yeah Tom did likewise, spoke about the pretzel the 4 on and the triple.

So if it's not a trick and not style, then what? Why does skiing act like it didn't happen or it doesn't count.

I forgot to mention they rewarded AHall's creativity and style as well.

Blender is a part of a trick. It's sorta like a pregrab or lazy boy or coming in switch. Just another action to do that defines a complete trick a little differently than a similar one done in a different way. The purpose of blender is more or less to let someone spin a different way than they are comfortable riding switch. If people do it to impress, it's kinda just a bonus. Im sure jesper can ski sw over his left shoulder but no one else does blenders so he has stuck with doing blender sw left spins. Might have the directions swapped, my bad if so

This is generally how skiing recognizes blender, a compensation for not having both left and right switch stances. An expression of less skill and technique.

Most other freestyle sports consider blind spins from a reverse stance an expression of more skill and tech.

jesper has always done his switch right spins with the blender. as far as i know, judges just ignore it and i think rightfully so

Just because people can always do something doesn't make it any less difficult. Like A Hall with his Buick grab.
