Jerry rigging ideas to make my boots stiffer

YALL HELP, my boots have to be like an 80 flex at this point, anybody have any ideas on how to make them stiffer??

What boots? My Il Moro shells have these plastic things you can slide between the upper and lower shell behind the calf to make them stiffer, though touring versions like the Lupos don't have the notch for them.

I had lange rx 100s which [tag=154780]@tomPietrowski[/tag] (before he worked for k2/FT) added extra bolts into the cuff/clog overlap at the back to bump up the stiffness the equivalent of 10/15pts. It was like night and day between the perfect fit and stiffer flex of the langes to my old sloppy fitting, wet noodle Spks. Never looked back and got 130s next to ride everywhere.

They’re the dalbello lupo ax 110s

Yeah...what boots do you have? There must be a way to pop rivet some extra material into the cuff or something like that?

being three piece boots that makes it easy, you should be able to get a new tongue off a 120 or a 130 but you'll probably have to go through a ski shop because I don't think you can get them off their website like a full tilt

Can you tell what flex the tongues are? Apparently they are A B and C in order from stiffest to softest and the A units are basically NLA.

can some boot company hook Abi up? She won a freeride comp in NZ, is a total ripper and is really awesome and deserves more than a damn 80 flex boot.

Sad thing I’m competing in 2 days and need a quick fix because I’m away in Canada :/

I don't have them anymore and I can't find any pictures.

Basically you would drill 2 holes either side of the spine and using Allen dome bolts going through both the upper and lower of the boot and being secured with tooth plate nuts like the rest of the ones on the inside of the shell. The yellow dots show where they went on my rxs and below that the tooth plate nut of the power strap on my current boots.

This process is permanent and will introduce holes in your boots that will need bolts or plugs forever more. I don't know how this process transfers to a 3 piece like your lupos and would highly recommend taking them to a quality boot fitter to do it as they should have all the tools, hardware and knowledge of where they can possibly put bolts. The lupos look put together differently than the langes so I wouldn't want to recommend bolt locations.
