I work at the tune shop at my local ski hill, and I've seen some new levels of kookiness this year. Last weekend some old lady came in with boots that had snapped in half so we sent her over to rental to get a full setup. She comes back with her skis from 1982 and asked us to set them up for the rental boots. We explained that we legally couldn't work on them and she was genuinely surprised.

I just don't understand why you would want to pay extra money to ski on your 40 year old skis when your boots that are the same age exploded from walking through the parking lot. What is going through these peoples heads?
 
Bro boomers are just fucking retarded. As a tech, 10% of my job is working on people's skis, and 90% of it is telling old fucks that their skis/boots are too damn old to mount.
 
My jerry friend who I have talked about before is finally getting his own gear after renting for so long. He finally realized how shit rental gear is and really wants better stuff. I told him to hit up me or even better, my brother who works in a shop for his gear recommendations and he said "nah I'll just ask my Dad. He has been skiing for a long time so I think he knows what's up" even though he knows my bro and I eat sleep and breathe skiing...
 
Its better when jerries show up with either 2 different ski boots or 2 different skis. I couldnt stop laughing when they had to add a new rule to the skiers responsability: No improvised equipment allowed in the ski center.
