I just read this and thought it was hilarious...all I have to say is, what's next??!!

Oh, Jennifer. Get real, as Dr. Phil would say. Actress, singer, savvy businesswoman, queen of the tabloids Jennifer Lopez says she wants to become the first female president of the United States. Why? Because it would be cool, and she could redecorate the White House for a cozier look. (You have to admit no candidate in recent memory has given those reasons!)

The Latina superstar shared her ultimate hopes and dreams with the German celebrity magazine Bravo, saying, "I'm a total powerhouse. If you ask me, I'd like to become the first female president--that would be really cool. The first thing I would do is redecorate the White House. It doesn't look very cozy." Well, she IS old enough to run for president now that she's turned 35. And her growing entertainment empire could bankroll a run. Hmmm...

isnt she from a spanish country.....if she is and i think she is then she cant run

Jennifer Lopez WILL NOT become president of the United States. It is my promise to all of you to never allow that to happen.

Oh but everybody thinks

By the way, my previous post has nothing to do with her being a woman, or a Latino, just that she is ridiculously unqualified for the position.

I'm not normally the first person to start defending JLo, but I'm going to go ahead and say this was taken out of context. I regularly speak about world domination, and although I feel I'm fully qualifed, it's quite obviously said more for the sake of humour than anything else.

Who cares, she won't win anyway. When was the last time any minority was nominated by either party for the presidency...uh...never. It's not like the democrats are going to waste time or money letting her think it is possible.

dont you have to be a US citizen for like 25 years or something?

I heard that they're thinking of changing the rules on becoming pres (ie. allowing non-us citizens to run). I'm positive it's all just a rumour...but I think it's hilarious to even consider it! Arnold, JLo, what's next...world domination by Martha Stewart?!! I just thought the article was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time, and thought I should share it with everyone!

ya that would be gay if they let non americans run our country. the mexis would def control every thing and would fuck it all up

Rodedaco, that is because Schwarzenegger is of the most qualified people for the job and is exactly what California needs to bring change and mix things up. If you don't know much about him and his history I highly reccomend reading a biography on him. He is an absolutely amazing man that I have great respect for.

Albout J. Lo.. Also remember that in order to be the President of the United States you will need to have a majority vote. Now, let's remember that much of America is rural America overrun by rednecks with shotguns and mayonaisse sandwhiches. Do you really think that anytime in their liftetime they are going to vote for a minority woman to run this country?

Puerto Rican's are allowed to run for the President of the United States since it is a US Province. Puerto Rico even has a US Senator.

Also yes, you have to be from the US to run (or a US province), but since JLo is from New York she could run if she wanted to.

My respect, or even potential respect for Arnold diminishes considerably when he uses phrases like "DEY ARE ECAHNAHMIC GIRLEY-MEN!"

If he is a respectable politician, he should really do less to make himself out like a novelty item and a joke.

JD May give me a fucking break, we all know he did it to get publicity for the party. Our politicians lie to us on daily basis and when he says something like that you jump on it and try to bring him down. Pathetic.

-People say marijuana ruins your life, I just say I take the scenic route-

You're a genius, aren't you? yes, of course I'm going to bring him down for making an ass of himself to "get publicity for the party". How is that at all worth respecting? You make absolutely no sense. If he wants to be considered a decent, respectable politician, he shouldn't market himself as a novelty. It's a pretty simple concept. Base your political rhetoric on your goals and beliefs, not tired catchphrases.

Go JD! Politicians use anything to gain leverage over the other party like your favorite John Kerry talked soooo much shit about Bush during the compaign (everything including name calling) but for some reason I did not hear any of those "loose respect" for him bullshit. JD I know there are lots of other reasons why you don't like the governor so please stick to real issues.

-People say marijuana ruins your life, I just say I take the scenic route-

and JackBach quit being a fucking puppet...

-People say marijuana ruins your life, I just say I take the scenic route-

I'm a fucking puppet because I agree with him? That's a pretty logical conclusion. Good work.

[/b]SHAKE YOUR BLOOD

I don't live in California, and after Gray I have no reason not to like him (though that wasn't a tough act to follow, his predecessor more or less fucked up everything he could find). But the point is that there's a difference between attacking an opponent on grounds of policy choices and failure to keep promises and blurting out stupid re-adaptations of old movie lines so some dumbass who has no idea what's going on in politics can chortle to himself about how funny and tough the governator is. If he'd just do his job and not make a bigger mockery of the profession than even the stereotypes dictate, he'd earn a lot more respect from me.

Not that Kerry even matters anymore, but give me a quote where he resorted to "name-calling". I just want to see if you're talking out of your ass.

JD I agree with you on the whole stick to issues but when the both parties commit the same act and you bash one of them just doesn't seem right to me. And fuck man let me try to find something for you regarding name calling, I know for a fact that there was name calling now I just have to show it to you...

-People say marijuana ruins your life, I just say I take the scenic route-

I didn't bash both parties because off the top of my head I can't rememeber a democratic politician ever doing anything similar, and Arnold was the guy we were talking about for some reason. I didn't bring him up. Why would I suddenly bring up someone else just to even it out? That seems an odd thing to gripe about. I guess I could point out what an idiot JLo is, since she's also under discussion, but I'm pretty sure that goes without saying.

Here you go KingShit, this supports your argument that there was name calling, which no one should be arguing about because "name calling" occurs frequently in politics.

http://www.blogsforbush.com/mt/archives/000733.html

I think we're all in agreement that "name calling" has not place in politics.

I'll also say that of all the people to elect to the Governor's office of California, Arnold wasn't my first choice.

[/b]SHAKE YOUR BLOOD

Does accusing someone of being a crooked liar really constitute name calling, though? I realize we're getting way off topic here, but that does seem at least a somewhat relevant-to-the-issues criticism, true or not.

Yeah, JD, I think so. Calling someone a liar (not to mention a crooked liar, haha) is pretty outrageous for a politician. Like you said, they should be focusing on issues. Even more importantly they should have more tact than to resort to calling someone a liar. He could easily have proved Republicans are liars through some pretty blatant evidence, of which we're all aware of.

Granted, he didn't think the mic was on, but I think the point still stands.

[/b]SHAKE YOUR BLOOD

JD it all depends on the person. For me it doesn't mean name calling but for someone it might. But the first article illustrated name calling to us, calling people idiots I think is considered name calling still right?

-People say marijuana ruins your life, I just say I take the scenic route-

Oh, for sure, the idiot thing was just ridiculous, but I never took her seriously to begin with and I don't judge people through their spouses. I always thought that woman was a joke, and that was an incredibly stupid thing to say on her part. "How to hurt your husband's chances of being elected, chapter one..."
