The only reason you felt like they were better was because your stockers were more than likely meant for 90% asphalt conditions and had shit tread on them. Your newer mudding tires obviously have a much deeper tread pattern which will increase grip, but a narrower tire will ALWAYS be better in snow on regular roads. If you tried your exact same tires in different widths you would see for yourself. Thats why the BMW X5 sucks in snow, the rear wheels are like a 10 or 10.5 inch wide, so they get almost no traction.
 
Alright alright fellas, settle down. Coskier here is just defending his experience that big meaty tires are better than his skimpy old roadies, not some quality kickass skinny snow tire. Every body is right here for the most part.

Regardless tires ain't gonna do shit when your JEEP breaks down on the side of the road. GO TOYOTA

because those things wheel pretty fuckin hard. ive driven my 4runner to hell and back and it loves the outdoors almost as much as i do
 
Dude if you're not smashing over rocks it's pretty much a non issue. Besides I still like to drive my truck on the highway so I appreciate the ride.

I was more referring to yota's reliability not wheeling ability in moab.
 
mine drives straight as an arrow on 35's up to 65mph..ive never hit 80 like co2x2 but then again jeeps arent made to be dragsters and i would never have a reason to go that fast...
i've never had death wobble with oversized tires or any bad tracking, rigs that usually have those problems are poorly built or beaten on and never fixed

get the hard top. i only hard a hard top and a bikini top for my 95 yj.

what year is yours?

and bundle up, cause the winters were so fuckin cold in that thing.
 
depends on how he runs his jeep...i yanked the carpet out of mine to avoid the mildew/water damaged carpet and because all the heat protection is on the backside of the carpet any drivetrain heat radiates right through the floorboards and kept me very warm all winter...then in the summer i just put very thick plastic mats on the floor to radiate the heat back down
 
mine didnt have any carpet either. i found it very cold in the winters. i dunno, maybe im a puss.

they do have good heaters in them though.
