I love how most of the concert is just him telling stories while absentmindedly playing his guitar. You can see how blues was born by watching him live

top 5 concerts of mine for sure! He tells stories and plays music, makes you feel like your just chillin with him in his living room.

^ that was lame. let's try this again... Softly as a Morning Sunrise and Mr. P.C. by John Coltrane.

And if it didn't work.. well I guess that's just too bad.

these two songs did more for my playing than anything

one of my favorite licks, ever

and finally, my favorite piece of music ever written

I bet I'm the biggest Tower of Power fan on this website! (even if they're not from my generation) Now lets add some soul too! I love jazz so much! I play the trumpet, and other players on here?

I need to write a paper with at least 4 blues songs that all have a common theme

Found this list in an article by Kevin Chisholm

Bragging / Manhood

"Mannish Boy" - Muddy Waters

Jubiliation

"Let the Good Times Roll" - B.B. King & Bobby Blue Bland

"Playin' with my Friends" - B.B. King

Goin' Wherever the wind blows

"B. Movie / Boxcar Blues" - Delbert McClinton

Love / Marriage Problems

"Dr. Feelgood" - Aretha Franklin

"Down-Hearted Blues" - B.B. King

Tryin' to get on home

"Travellin South" - Albert Collins

Desparation

"Texas Flood" - Various Artists (although I like SRV's version!)

"Born under a Bad Sign" - Albert King

I like the going where the wind blows theme and would add "Wagon Wheel" OCMS (country is acceptable if its bluesy as are other genres)

thanks +k

all this is good stuff. i like soul music too. marvin gaye, curtis mayfield, otis redding, sam cooke, and etc. i listen to this stuff in the car with a cup of coffee on the way to the ski mountain in the early morning. set the car on cruise control---maximum relax. even the drive to the mountain is one of the best parts of the day.
