Does Jay peak have good terrain parks this weekend im going there and was hoping to get the majority of the footage for my season edit communicate with me with re theread or message me

i was there over february vacation, they had a 4 jump line maybe 20'-25'-35'-45', and a steep ass dfd, flat down box and down rail, then some weird pole jams and tranny stuff at the bottom. jumps were actually really good, rails were alright. saw a picture they tweeted the other day and the park looked very much the same, i think they may have switched out the bottom features though.

If you are planning on getting all your seasons footy you are out of luck unfottunately. Jumps are super flat, rails are pretty fucking wack but its a super fun park to fuck around in.

Ill be there all weekend, saturday likely drunk as fuck riding snowblades.

I might go there this weekend, haven't gone this year but it looks like they really stepped up their shit this year! Came across the video they posted about a month ago so I dont know how much has changed since thenhttp://vimeo.com/61095406

I was there last weekend and they had a four jump line with a dfd rail, and down rail next to it.... following that they had a massive battleship rail followed by a raised flat box and a pole tap at the end.... they also had a couple of rails set up over by the carpet... a c rail and a gnarly roller coast

jays park is not worth hitting. their jumps are ok but thats it. only go there if you want some sketchy features and some really short boxes. stick to the woods there.

I used to spend a 3 weekend at Jay every year with my dad and some friends. Their jumps were kinda small and flat, and one of their down rails was literally at a 70-80 degree angle (not even exaggerating). But they still had some pretty fun rail set ups. I haven't been in a few years though.

But I wasn't there to shred the park I was their to shred some trees!

The only reason i'm going is that its the only place to go skiing near me that has a park i mean sunday river has a park kinda of i dont think any of us will call that a park

sunday river i swhere its at right now???? they are one of the only parks in the east that still have big jumps??

So the flat in it was actually like a down? haha It was like you could drop 2ft from the lip and you'd still land on the last foot of the rail.

No it just has the gnarliest in kink of any rail in a park that I have seen. That paired with the fact that its pencil thin makes it an absolutely useless rail.

I work at Jay Peak, so I can give you the low down on what's going on right now. In the past, Jay has not put the same focus on park that many other eastern mountains do, mostly because we have had other priorities when it comes to on-hill development. However, this year, we decided to step up our park game by partnering with SPT and having them build us several features and work with our park crew to create parks that were flowing and constantly changing. We also hired a new park director who has a very creative eye and is working hard to see that the park progresses in the right direction. The improvements have been astounding, and the parks this year have been great. We recently tore out our intermediate park (to make way for pond skimming) and have set up a plaza on Stateside with a bunch of cool features. Check it out:631003.jpeg

The 720 park is still going strong as well, aided by mother nature's refusal to let winter die here, so the jumps are pristine and look like they will be standing for quite a while.

So, decide for yourselves, but in my slightly biased opinion, Jay's parks are definitely worth coming to, especially now that all the other mountains are closing and there aren't that many good parks left to hit.

Oh, and that DFD isn't useless, it just sounds like you're a little afraid of it ;)

Well seeing as I've put like 35 days in at Jay this season and havent seen anyone even attempt to hit it besides myself kinda makes it seem a bit useless... Dont get me wrong I love whats going on a Jay, favourite mountain of all time.

Well thats not true seeing as both the state side chair and flyer have been shut down. Even if it was open, what am I supposed to do? Shred mashed potato tree runs with average coverage at best? Try to send Andres to frozen ground? Bomb down CanAm at 120 km/h? Sorry but ill hit some spring jumps and slide some gnarly grind bars instead.

Whiteface had a dfd 2 years ago that was like that. I didn't see anyone hit it, and I ate complete shit the couple times I tried it. Haven't seen it in the park since.

I normally ski at cannon mountain and they couldve stayed open but didnt they still had 60 footers in closing weekend id like to see sunday river top that but thankyou whoever worked at jay that helped alot and cannon had the scechiest rail ever slope style day it was a huge gap to a flat, up, flat, to super long down so the dfd cant e tht bad is it

You guys have done an outstanding job, thanks so much for all the time and effort that has been put in this season. Things have really transformed this season, especially when compared to the past couple of springs. Thank you.

The best park of Jay's park are still their location. Take the lift/tram to the top, ski some dope trees, drop in through the 360/720 park before the lift. It's perfect.

Truth. The Jet is planning on closing the 28th, but they are going to try to stretch 720 and the Chalet plaza as far as they can. There have also been talks about having jam contests on the weekends going into May. I'll keep you all updated as I hear more.
