Japan vs taipan

What is a taipan grab. I am having an argument with an Alaska kid and he says a Japan is grabbing the inside of your ski opposite your grab hand in front of your legs instead of behind it. He says grabbing behind your leg is a taipan. Am I wrong on thinking he is wrong and dumb?

Japan is inside left ski, right hand, behind right leg (or vise versa) taipan is a mute grab under your leg, right hand mute under your right leg.

Japan is the inside of opposite ski, arm behind the same leg, under or close to the foot.

Taipan is the same motion with your shoulder, but on outside of the opposite ski in front of the foot-it's basically a mute through the legs.

Why do people still do grabs other than Blunt? Theres actually no point

Don't get me wrong I still dream about grabbing blunt almost every night. But blunt is one of the easiest grabs and doesn't look as good in some tricks as others.
