Japan earthquake related to Liberalism/conservatism??

Hey guys I have this social source based question I have to write on in class tomorrow and I was thinking of using the recent earthquake in Japan as support. I am really not that knowledgable when it comes to the Japanese economy and I was wondering if anyone could help me get a start on how this event has affected Japan as a whole and how it is related to liberalism or conservatism. the colonists were were pretty evenly split with about 1/3 supporting independence, 1/3 unsure, and 1/3 wanting to stay under british rule. get learned fool. if anything 911 would be a better example.
