Hi guys,

looking to come over with a group from Aus in Jan next year. what are our best options to find places to live for 8 weeks? have been looking at summitdaily and things like that. there would be enough of us to rent a house but will people rent for only 2 months or would they want the place rented for the season? i am looking for something on or near the bus route. i know a few of you have done seasons there before, does anyone have any advise for first timers??

good luck, but it's going to be hard as hell to find a totally empty house for that many people when the season is fully on...and almost nobody is going to want to rent to you for just 2 months
and if you do find a place, prepare to pay 3-4 times as much as you would if you came and rented a house in like september
 
BUT (sorry for second post) if you were to go to Breck instead you might have better luck...they have a bigger town that's closer to the actual skiing than some of the spread out stuff down the valley from vail (im almost certain you wont find a house in the Town of Vail in January for like than 5000/month)...so youre more likely to find mid-season stuff in breck/frisco/dillon than you are in vail
 
yea, mid-season is tough to find housing here and what-not... if you are trying to live in vail then look at vaildaily.com, not summit daily. odds are you could find a room for rent (someone subletting theirs) here and there, so you might not all live together unless you have a lot of $$$$ saved up... BUT, keep your eye on things and you might be able to figure it out... otherwise yes, definitely check out summit county. good luck man
