Yo guys. So at the end of Feb I'm going to JH with my gf. Were packing most of our food to save money but I want to take her out to dinner one night. I want to take her someplace nice and I've tried looking up some of this on the internet but I can't find much help.

-It can't be crazy expensive, Im on a budget haha.

-Ive taken her to get sushi, thai food, seafood, and I want to take her somewhere different. So maybe Italian? A good grill or something?

Hopefully you guys can help.

teton thai in the village is my favorite place to eat in JH. I know you said no thai, but it is seriously amazing. Served by ski bums, cooked by the family of the owner's wife. They're all from Thailand. Not to mention it's about $15 for a HUGE portion of food!

Rendevous Bistro has some amazing Italian food if you want to go that route, but you're looking at $25 easily a person, if not more.

In teton village you also have The Osteria which is good Italian fare, pricey as well.

The Local has good lunch specials.

Yeah I could do 25 a person, but I was looking online at places and some meals were like 40 a person. I can't do that haha. My budget is under $75 for dinner and dessert.

Also the resteraunt needs to be in Jackson hole and within walking distance from our hotel which is on Town Square.

Teton thai is walking distance from the lifts, do that as your Apres! They also do great lunch prices too!

Im just biased towards them I guess haha.

Well we'll be on a bus. Haha. We're not going up individually we're going up with a ski club. So the bus leaves back to town at about 4:30. And we're staying at one of the hotels on town square. So that's why we're limited to Jackson. If I had my car I probably wouldn't make this thread cause there's tons of places I know and love just not any in walking distance haha.

I was looking at the Lotus and it looked good tho.

Take the start bus back, its like 2 bucks a person. TT get rated one of the top places to eat in the hole EVERY year.

The Wort Hotel has a restaurant called the Silver Dollar which is BANGER! Id recommend that over The Local for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright thanks man. I'll shoot some k+ your way.

Teton Thai >>>> (for lunch one day if you can!!)

-the bird, it's south of town but their burgers are the best in town and There's a free shuttle you can call to bring you there and pick you up. Good happy hour deals on Tuesday and Thursday

-local is affordable if you get a burger. Otherwise it's expensive

-Thai me up has more than just Thai and they serve Melvin brewery beer which is delicious

Im currently thinking the Silver Dollar, Lotus Cafe, or Trio. Any insight on those?

I've only eaten pickes from silver dollar but I love their bar

Trio is really good, so are their blue cheese waffle fries, and a fellow ns'er works there too

Also should have said, lotus is good if youre looking for the more vegan/veggie side of things. Its a lighter place to eat too, I think of it as a lunch/light dinner place. Not something Id do as my one JH dining experience.

Trio is really good too, a little pricey imo, but the atmosphere in there is awesome!

The White Buffalo Club is a super small, very upscale place with great eats too! Amazing mussels and steaks!

Blue lion, Rendezvous bistro, Trio, and even Local are pricey. Silver dollar (the Wort) is alright pricewise but may be more casual than what you're looking for. Daily pot pie special tho is my go to meal there

I'd also totally recommend TMU. Best brewery around and I eat there all the time. Burgers, pot stickers, wings, and curry all great. Somewhat casual in the bar area with shared tables but theres a dining area too.

Other suggestion would be the Indian. Food is amazing if you and your girl are into indian dishes. Naan and oysters sauce dude. And they have a tallboy Budweiser + whiskey shot $6 combo too. Indian's probably your best deal for a dinner date night in town.

I'm kinda leaning towards Trio right now. They offer crab and my gf loves crab. But silver dollar and the brewery also sound great as well.

Do you think I could walk into any of these restaurants on a Saturday night or would I need a reservation?

It's not really a date place I think, but after a day of skiing if you feel like spending the money, go to Sidewinders and get the Chicken Pot Pie. It was hands down the most amazing food I have ever eaten after skiing in my entire life.

I know everyone thinks Guy Fiery is a douche, but this shit is abso-fucking-lutely amazing.

go to Sidewinders

Sidewinders helps sponsor Darrel Miller's local ski flicks. They are hosting the DVD release party this Thursday (2/11) at 7pm. Unlikely anyone sees this, but if you do and go, mention to me or Darrel that you saw this on ns and I'll buy you a beer. I'll be there from 7-9... Infamous Stringdusters are playing at the garter later that night
