he was so bad in tropic thunder. if saying "fuck" 100000 times and acting in a panicky way and being a heroin addict is funny, im gonna stop watching comedies

robert downey jr on the other hand, that was hilarious. best comedy character of all time. i literally laughed at every word that came outta his mouth

ben stiller = funny, the end

jack black ruined it though
 
haha his character was making fun of stupid comedians who can only make jokes based off of curse words and bodily functions. he was portraying his character and did it almost perfect
 
i always find jack black hilarious, but maybe im a little biased because i always picture him in that sasquatch suit and start laughing

and his other movies he was trying to promote throughout tropic thunder, the fart family, OOO MMM GGG how UN FUNNY.
 
Do they have a sense of humor at all? You're basing this opinion off of one movie, go watch nacho libre, school of rock, orange county, and tenacious d and then say Jack Black isn't funny
 
imho tropic thunder wasnt really a movie suited for JB.
However i really enjoyed his voice in kungfu pandaand offcourse Tenacious D rocks out hard !
 
i didnt like tropic thunder, i didnt see what all they hype was about, but i liked him alot in Nacho Libre a while back. some of his attempts at comedy are forced
 
I never got the hype about Tropic Thunder. Sure it was funny, but the only good thing about the movie was Robert Downey Jr. Everyone else really didn't play much of a role in it being funny. Ben Stiller is not funny. Jack Black is a funny guy, but in that movie his role wasnt that great, and none of the other actors did that much to make the movie funny either.

 
i didn't find jack black funny at all in tropic thunder, that being said, he is amazing in some other movies such as high fidelity

One of the first concerts I ever went to was Weezer and Tenacious D...
I had no idea who Tenacious D was when I bought the tickets (It was a longg time ago), and was completely blown away. At that point in time I thought Jack Black was the best, funniest performer I had ever seen. Since then my opinion of him has fallen off a little bit, but it's always supported by the memory of that concert. I kind of wish he didn't sell out and just make crappy movies, his live music was epppiiicccc
 
I thought trpoic thunder was one of his funniest movies and i still wanted to plug my ears when he spoke!!! School of rock on the other hand was one of the worst movies i have ever seen... and i was recently made to take my sisters to see the hannah montana movie.
 
hahaha thank you. to the OP, if you ever listened to tenacious d or saw any of their shit you probably wouldnt dislike jack black anymore. and his character in tropic thunder was supposed to be how it was to make fun of comedians like that..
 
ive seen most of his movies, tenacious d and school of rock and all that. i just dont think hes what everyone says he is. i just dont find him funny. the fact that they casted him for the role of the fat unfunny guy shows that hes perfect for it, an unfunny supposed to be funny guy making fun of weight and farts. his comedy just isnt very sophisticated; anyone can swear a lot, but it takes a real sense of humor to do what robert downey jr did

the only movie i like with jack black as a leadish role is king kong. and that is not a comedy

i NEVER liked dane cook. laughs at his own jokes that arent funny

then again, i think will ferrell is overrated, sure hes funny, but not as funny as everyone says he is. hes quoted way too much
 
I love jack black (no homo), but i did not enjoy Tropic Thunder, him and everyone else was not funny. Maybe only that main black guy, but other than that i found the movie pretty bad.

Really? I thought Jack was funny in it, Robert was amazing and it was Ben Stiller that wasn't funny. But I hate his humor for some reason. I was funny the first 3,000 movies but come on, find a new character to portray.
 
regardless of that movie, jack black is amazing. Tenacious D, along with movies like shallow hal and school of rock are amazing. You sir are just ill informed and incorrect.
