J.P. vs Julien

For anyone who had ridden these skis - How are they? Lately I have been considering them as one of my options for my ski next year. Do they shine as an all-mountain ski? That is what I'm looking for. How is the flex as a powder ski? I'm 6'1, 150 pounds, and an aggressive skier who goes all over the mountain. And obviously i'd be getting the 188's.

Thanks guys.

they are a amazing all mountian ski that can handel it self any where. from the big mountian to the park you can ride those bad boys. Thats why i ordered a pair of the 07 ones

^naw mang, keep them off piste. a great booter ski, fun in pow, snappy in tight trees, but they don't roll over real well on the groomers and are rather cantankerous in the park. they have almost no sidecut.

i love them. Best pow ski i've ever ridden. They work all over but they really excel off piste. There really light too. No complaints yet. But i dont ski them in the park. There to good to destroy in the park! Basically if im not skiing park im on the JJ's

naw, not really mixed ideas...just some people actually own the ski and have logged some days on them and some are talking from heresy.

Alrighty, as BillyBecker said, I haven't actually ridden them yet considering I just got them, but here's what I can see from holding them and comparing them to my current skis. (You can decided whether you care about this or not, haha)

First they are very very flexy. I have a pair of trouble makers and public enemies and I'd say they flex about the same stiffness as my trouble makers, softer than the public enemy. They are also super light, it's weird supernatural light. Their about the same weight as my 165 trouble makers, maybe lighter. It's weird. I've heard that their an okay park ski, but not amazing, but their BC is sweet which is what I'm using them for. Hopefully this helps a bit.

hey,

I'm 170cm (5'6 ft I think) and 61kg.

Can the Jp Vs Julien 06 (188) be used as an only ski?

I mean for everyday, hiting park when there is no powder (most of the time)?

How do they work on slope (piste? I don't know how to say it)?

I think they're too big for me if it's my only ski...

Should I wait for 178cm ones? which will be more versatile for me but more expensive (that I can paid for them...) :)

Thanks!

^From what I've heard, no...they have very small sidecut and don't turn that well at all on groomed stuff, I'd say out of the Armada line-up, the ARV is a better choice for varying conditions.

i have to say i havent found them overly flexy but the other skis i use are fujatives and t-halls....

wow there buddy, i talk because i have rode them. They can handle themselves in the park but theat not where they excell, your right there. They are ment for some solid bc boots and riping back there but they are a softer ski

^dude, you said they can ride park and they really can't. They are quiver ski. If you want something to throw around in the park and still hang in the woods and pow, then get the ARV or Moships. If you don't like the flex (which is perfect for what the ski is made for) go for the ANT's. If you ski tight trees, tight lines, booters, etc. go for the JP's...wide open faces and hesh/gnar AK lines, go for the ANTs, simple as that.

HAHA I think you meant hearsay but you typed heresy as in blaspheming against the church or the awesome Pantera song off Coboys from Hell, I love it.

You're right on Billy, I skied on Nicks Jp's prolly 5 times last season. They own the fresh but that is about it. I am 6' 200lbs loaded up though so I definietly need a stiffer heavier ski than that unless it's fresh. It doesn't carve groomers or crud to save your life.

So to the guy whose post this is, you want a ski that can charge hard but also ski the park? That makes no sense at all. The characteristics that make a ski charge hard are the ones that make it not park skiable. You can get something in between but it will be decent at both and great at neither. Start with a real charging ski and then see if you even want to ski park after that. If so get a park ski in the spring on sale.

190 Gotama

185 Kingswood Stiff MidFat

184 B Squad

186 Legend Pro

186 Prophet 100

These skis charge hard and are manageable for your size if you're legit.
