I've just realized...

i don't know about you guys, but i like to look good when im not skiing too, so why change that when i'm on the hill? this thread fails for me.

Nothing funnier than seeing some 120 pound kid with brand new Oakley gear head to toe trying to look hard in the lift line and then seeing they can't even make a turn to save their life. Posers.

I agree that skiing is skiing, but....

A huge part of skiing is style, perception, and individuality. Expressing yourself in all aspects, to me, is really important. I agree that your skiing should speak for itself, and that your individuality shouldn't represent the clothes you wear, but who are we kidding? What you wear has a huge impact on your style, straight up. A trick done in 3XL clothing is going to look different than a trick done in tight pants and a sweater-vest. The size of your clothing really DOES MATTER and correlates DIRECTLY to your style. It affects almost everything you do, because our bodies definitely react to the feel of clothing when we ski. Think about it, everything from hand/arm motions, to grabs, to how we spin. If we have tighter clothing things might be a little more forced. If we have baggy shit, style might be a little more natural. Then again there are exceptions. In a perfect world it wouldn't matter at all, but in this world, in this time, it does.

what does bein skinny have to do with anything?

I weigh 130, so what does that mean about me?

other then that i agree with ur post about how people spend so much just to look like they'd be good but actually aren't.

I personally like to look good on the mountain. I don't have full matching suits, but i like to wear semi baggy (baggy by normal standards, not by NS standards) clothes that go with each other.

it's been said, but i would much rather spend my money on a plane ticket out west than spend a ridiculous amount of money on outerwear.

I'm not calling anyone out, cus to each his own, but that's just my opinion

wait, you guys are saying that if someone has nice gear and he's not good at skiing then he's a poser... wtf, everyone started at some point and dont hate on people cause they wanna look good when they ski, if you wanna look like a gaper its your thing, i'd rather look like a freeskier, i love that sport as much as you do even if i would wear a g suit or whatever.

On another note i agree that some people have sick suits and they cant ski, they are posers but not all of them and the posers like skiing too they are just pussys but wtv...

If it were only about looks people would go to resorts and sit around their suits and not ski. There is nothing wrong with trying to have your own style or to have dope outerwear while you ski.

I have fun skiing because its one of the only places where I can be white, but get away with looking like a black guy in compton. I'm tall and its sick to have clothing that fits big once in a while and skiing is the place where it doesnt matter how big my jacket is im just having fun.
