Itunes - locating files

I copied all of my itunes music files to a different file subfolder on my external drive. i then changed the itunes music location on the preferences menu on itunes to this new location. the problem is that i never clicked, "consolidate library", and then went ahead to delete all the files at their original location. now, i basically have to click "locate" for every one of the 3,000 songs in my library in order to play them. does anyone know a faster way of doing this???

No, but really, delete all your music IN ITUNES (don't delete the actual songs, just the itunes listing) - then just import your music folder again.

delete your whole itunes library... then go file > add folder to library, and then just select the folder with all of your music in.

I was thinking about doing that because all my files got doubled somehow and I dont want to go through and delete every other song. If I reimport will it clear how many times I've listened to each and all that?
