i didn't say it's a problem, what two people do with each other, but whatever they do do, it doesn't make it right just because more and more people agree with it. you wouldn't be here if everyone thought the same way as you (unless artificial insemination had been the standard thing when you were conceived).

So what you're saying is that if gay marriage was legalized, everyone would just turn gay......? Just because they get married doesn't mean that all the straight people are gonna be like "OMG I CAN MARRY A DUDE? TOTALLY DOING THAT"

I dont necessarily think that gay marrige is the correct thing to do. But I do believe that the constitution gives them the right to. This video had a great message. And if marrying a man makes you happy and you think its the right thing to do, then go for it. im not going to force my beliefs about it on you.
 
the one problem I have with this is in countries like Canada where gays have all the same rights as anyone else, why do they still need to be very vocal and have parades and shit all the time? why not just live your life like everyone else now that you have what you want. It does make quite a few people uncomfortable since in all honesty it is unnatural. It does go against our biological drives and a lot of people simply can't help but be offended by it. So you have complete equality, then go about your life like everyone else and no problems will be had.

that being said, its a free country, so let'em get married if they want to.

Okay fair argument. But they have these things called women, and science does this cool thing where you can save sperm and give it to those women. Then you can have a baby of your own in 9 months! Best part, these women get paid a lot to help out these men. It's crazy what science can do (seriously). And lets not forget the tons of babies who are up for adoption, but lemme guess, if gay guys adopt a baby hes gonna turn gay right?
 
ok that's also a fair argument but tbh i'd rather sex her than pass a bit of sperm over which comes from some dick to dick action.

if you're going to come with the science argument, why not leave out the sexual part and just have everyone as test tube babies? then there is no need for man + woman or man + man at all.

And we can't leave the sex prat out because everyone loves sex, whether it is man on man, girl on girl, girl on guy, guy on girl on girl, it doesn't matter, it usually feels great. How many times to you have sex to get a girl pregnant? I know I have NEVER done that yet. I only have sex cause it feels good.

Is two guys having a test tube baby any different than a man and a woman who cannot physically have a baby together? Some women cannot have a baby and some men cannot impregnate a girl. Its the same thing IMO.

sperm + sperm = sperm

natural selection would basically eliminate men + women who can't physically have a baby, but nowadays it's normal in society to help people with fertility problems. it seems this is the future.
 
I will answer your question with a situation.. Susan has fertility problems, shes been to multiple doctors, had too many second opinions, and has found out she cannot carry a baby. Her reproductive organs just don't function. John has good sperm and gives it to a fertility clinic. Mary is very healthy down there and is hired to carry their baby. 9 months later a baby is born and Susan and John have their child.

Now what if Susan was Steven? Steven could not carry a baby, we know that. No need for a doctor to tell him that, but Mary could still take Johns sperm and deliver a baby.

That's how two guys have a test tube baby... The same way a man and a woman do.

also homosexuality is a very natural thing. there are records of homosexuality being existent throughout human history. the ancient Greeks are infamous for there butt poundings. also many other species of animals also display homosexual act. especially orangutans, who will fuck pretty much anything.

 
Ok, what you explained... they're both the same thing. To me, the baby is Mary and John's, no matter who takes care of it. Also, a woman is involved, so two men alone couldn't have a baby.
 
You are correct. Two men could not have a baby alone. And technically the baby would be Mary and John's... However, I can only hope that my future wife will be able to conceive a healthy one day. But if for some reason she cannot, you would never be able to convince me that my test tube baby is not mine and my wife's. That baby would be ours, end of story.
 
don't know if thats a good idea, just because we are not bigoted and intolerant, doesnt mean all are. but i like the idea
 
idk, i feel that marriage is for raising a family naturally with a man and a women, but i get where te other side is coming from. i guess its just because of how i was raised.

just because you think gay marriage is good doesn't mean everybody has to agree (unless you are for gay rights but not for the right to have an opinion)
 
1.) I think that people who are gay in Canada are not treated the same way as everyone else because they live in a completely hetero normative environment where people still think that they aren't natural and they hate them just because of who they like. Equal treatment by law does not mean equal treatment by the population.

2.) To those that keep saying that gay couples can't procreate, I don't really know why you feel the need to say that. We know. That isn't an argument against how natural it is. Lots of species of animals have a gay population. Can you perhaps think a little harder and realize population trends and carrying capacity and how having a portion of the population not recreating is helpful to the continuation of the species. Besides that, it's really irrelevant because who are you to tell someone what's natural when they are standing there in front of you telling you what they feel. Surely you are not in a place to sit there and tell them they are wrong.
 
I disagree. I think his argument is kind of valid, and just because he believes something you dont doesn't make him done. I dont think hes right, but everyone's entitled to their opinion and that doesnt make them stupid cause of it.
 
Yes, but this is about MARRIAGE, not a population surviving. Marriage is about love, and wanting to be with a person for the rest of your life, it's strange to think people want to stop people from loving eachother.

I wasn't really "raised to believe" anything. I don't know if it's cause I'm Canadian, or what. but my parents never even touched on this topic when I was young. They never had anything to say about gay people, races, abortions, or anything else controversial. The closest thing I got to something like that was when I was going to Barbados in 3rd grade, I was told that there were a lot of black people in the caribbean, and to not act differently around them.

and honestly I'm glad that's how I was brought up, as a blank slate. now I form my own opinions.

Personally I don't give a fuck whether or not gays get married. if they want to be with one person with the rest of their lives, then so be it, who fucking cares? they will either be miserable and get divorced, or happy until they die, or be miserable until they die. how is that different from straight people? pro tip: it's not.

to me, marriage is simply a bond put on paper. straight people don't have to love each other to get married, but when gay people are in love they can't get married? that is fucking gay. I'm not necessarily for gay marriage, but I don't even care, do what you want. One of Confucius' 5 reasons of conflict is ignorance of history/fact. I think that anyone who is opposed to gay marriage falls into the category of ignoring fact. Marriage will be the exact same if same sex couples are permitted to be married, so build a fucking bridge and get over it.
 
haha when i say that, i didnt mean my mom and dad sat me down and said marraige is for a man and a women. i was just bought up in a "traditional" family, with "traditional" family values, (go to church sunday, family time) i went to christian school all my life, its just kind of what i learned over time.
