It sucks going to a school when no one there skis

Tartan highschool MN, there is no skiers at all but for me and another kid who snowboards. its soo stupid it hurts me to know that no one in my school likes skiing
 
I go to a school of 2000 people, a lot of people ski but they're all gapers and racers. No one I know of freestyle skis. It's really dumb
 
like my friends live an hour away and those happen to be all the people i ski with. its like every person i know who goes there owns twin tips. and my school nothing, its not chill at all
 
better than going to a school where being one of three skiers gets you called gay more than if one was a male flute player in the marching band.... i hate the half redneck high school i went to.

ha but seriously theres, 6 skiiers at my school of 1,600, and 3 of them are huge douche bags,
 
oh, well i live 15 minutes from boston mills/brandywine, and i worked there, but its a crappy drive in winter, atleast for me, with my car
 
haha farmington minnesota... theres no abundance of skiers here, we've got some poser snowboarders and a couple good ones
 
I think that it's funny that half of the time everyone is bitching about the increasing popularity of skiing because it's becoming less & less "core", but people turn around and bitch because of the lack of skiers. Can't have your cake and eat it too. BTW - general observation & not directed specifically at anyone in particular.
 
I love living in the NW where I don't have to worry about this.

But seriously, get them interested in skiing if its such a big deal that no one there skis.
 
i love in a small connecticiut town. and in my high school we have prolly 15 kids that all freestyle. i love it. were a pretty tight knit crew and its funny wearing "my friend is a pro" shirts or saying shit from chug life or something and only a handful of people get it.
 
dude i live in nebraska!! quit with your complaining at least when you go to your mountain there are probably other freestyle skiers there. not me im the only twin tipper that goes to my mountain. and 5 other twin tippers live in my city and they all go to colorado all the time. so im basically the only one
 
I live near Vancouver BC, at my school there's like 25 or 30 twin tippers and mucchhh more gapers (that ski with their family every winter etc) and snowboarders
 
no one even appreciates skiing cause no one understands what its about. everyone thinks skiing is stupid cause all they think about is it being a girly sport. Most hated question: "Since you're a guy, should't u be snowboarding?" proves how people hate on the sport and know nothing about it.

i know i really hate that snowboarding has given us this bad name. i really want to get along with snowboarders but most of them have this tendency to call us gay and it really makes me mad
 
Yeah at my school I'm the only legit snowboarder/skier. No one actually "knows what's up". There's some kids who go every once in awhile and think they're sweet and then talk shit on everyone when they're actually gapers.
 
At my school (out of 2000 - 2500 kids) theres maybe 7 other twintip skiers, 5 of whom are assholes, 1 whos just a gaper on twins, and theres one chill one, theres also a shitload of gapers and weekend warriors, and a few cool racers. i feel your pain, i want to build a summer setup, but i have noone to use it with, because all my friends who ski are 45 minutes or more away, and most cant drive
 
Yeah, i don't know why people are concerned about skiing getting bigger. As long as you're better than everyone else people will still be like "hey look at that skier", not that i'm saying people just want to get noticed.
 
convert some people or start them out, get them stoked, show them some edits, get them an ns account, but make sure to protect them from nsg and sg cuz it is summer time
 
there's about five of my good buddies who ski or snowbaord regularily but there's kids who shred hard in older greades.
 
what town. i live in god damn farmington. only 3 kids freestyle. everyone else snowboards. oh yea, and theres one chick who freestyles. thats it. so one day i was wearin my 4frnt shirt wit a mountain on it. i had like 50 ppl ask me "whats that mean" i told them it was a ski brand. one faggot even said "whats skiing". wtf
 
There is only one other freeskier at my school and I never ski with him, but there's a couple of chill snowboarders and a few snowboarders that graduated last year, but went to local colleges so I still ski with them. Everyone at my school thinks skiing is gay and snowboarding is cool and talk shit about skiing, even though none of the snowboarders do, it's pretty lame. I can kinda see why they would think that though, because all of the kids on the racing team except one or two are huge douchebags, and most people think that I'm on the team for some reason. There are a lot of skiers at a nearby high school though (East), but it would be nice to be able to talk about skiing with someone at school and have them know what I'm talking about/not bore them/piss them off.
 
sorry for the double post, but I get that all the time too when I wear any skiing brand other than K2/Rossi. Some kid thought my NS sticker said pi (turned sideways), it ended up being a pretty funny inside joke though.

I live on Long Island man. Welcome to my life. I have one friend that wants to get into riding the parks, and he snowboards, and he's not serious about anything. Other than that it's just me. It blows.
 
i hate it when people ask me why wouldn't i just snowboard. all the people at my school think i am the only person that skis park which is really ignorant
