It really is sickening the way drinking and smoking has taken over the skiing culture

No because if you actually knew and believed that killing was wrong, you wouldn't do it..

There are some situations that are different though like if someone broke in to your house and put your kids in harms way
 
Well now im confused because it would be a contradiction to be both kantian and utilitarian

if killing is wrong, then killing in self defense is still wrong.

would you through one person off the raft to save the rest of the crew?

I don't think it's TAKEN OVER the culture, it's always been there. watch ski school, made in the 80s, perfect example
 
This has always been the case in skiing. My grandfather has told me plenty of stories in the 50s when he went skiing drunk and bringing a flask on the slopes. It has always been that way and always will. Have you even seen Hot Dog the movie?, if not you should watch it. Ski culture hasn't changed.
 
Who gives a fuck if I want to throw down some beers and make some turns with my buddies.

If you want to do it sober go ahead, but don't go preaching how we are putting a bad image on the sport.

and its nothing new, there are old guys at my local ski area that get there at open every single day have a bloody mary and toke one up in the parking lot and ski for a couple hours and then they call it aday. They have been doing it together for around 30 years, one guy even brings his dog Nemo with to run down the hill with him as he skis.

So before you go attacking and trying to get people to ski your way, just shut the fuck up and leave...just because someone does something you like a little different doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it.

 
Drinking and drugs has been rooted in teenage culture. It is not suprising it is in skiing too, as the main demographic is mostly teenagers
 
It's really sickening how skiing has taken over the culture of drinking and drugs! Before a stoner was a dangerous madman, and a ski jump was something to laughed at as we telemarked by, then again the 20's was a while ago.
 
this! im really upset by the lack of professionalism in partying these days. where has all the dedication and respect gone?
