It really is sickening the way drinking and smoking has taken over the skiing culture

Has taken over the skiing culture... or the skiing culture emerged from drunk and high skiers being ridiculous? It's always been this way and to be quite honest I enjoy skiing as much sober as I do high or drunk! I just sometimes like to get the party started at around 1 or 2 PM rather than waiting for apres! Life is sick and I appreciate everything I have dude. Flask of whisky, couple pocket beers and a few joints and golden for the day. Usually ski sober though, especially when I'm out touring in the boonies.
 
Allowance??? Shit......that was almost 20 years ago for me. But for real, I don't drink while I ski, because I don't drink much and when I do, I drink to get drunk. So no good for skiing. At least for me.

However when it comes to blazing. I usually bring my G pen with me. Unless, there are children on the chair with me, your going to have to deal with it. 99% of the time, it goes unnoticed. The other 1% of the time, I could care less. What is the person going to do? Call the cops or patrol on me?

Worry less about what other people are doing. And for whatever it's worth, I don't smoke/drink while I'm skiing because I don't like feeling hazy on skis but to each their own.
 
i dont smoke on the chair cause i think its cool.. i smoke on the chair cause i can go directly down hill after, stopping in the woods gets in the way of shred time
 
yeah, sounds more like you joined a culture that you didnt understand. the image of newschoolersing (hotdogging) has always been FTP and get fucked up, stay fucked up. if you want good clean fun, go hook up with some dirtbikers, or skateboarders, or maybe some climbers, as these cultures would seem to be more your speed...
 
I could not agree more with OP its sad to see that we are looked at as a bunch of out of control ass hole, pot heads with no respect for any one else on the hill
 
I thought it sounded familiar. No need to get so protective you pot smoking, beer drinking, partygoers. OP probably sitting back enjoying a celebratory bowl right now.
 
I'm guessing you ski 5-10 times a year... go back to marching band, you said you like it better anyways.

when your body is thrashed from 10 years of park skiing, beer and pot are sometimes necessary to dull reoccurring injuries. It's also pretty helpful getting over the new-trick jitters.
 
I do it and i think a lot of people do it for the same reason. It has less to do with skiing and more to do with the fact that we are all there for the same thing, and having a great time, and when we party, we are willing to experiment. Skiing has nothing to do with partying taking over, it's just part of a certain lifestyle. Young people like to take risks on and off the mountain.
 
it's really sickening how much of a pussy sport skiing has become. light up n have a beer jesus, you sound like a tightwad n a half.

im not against pot smoking, or drinking. i just think there is a time and place, and its not on the lifts.

if you think that is egotistical or is showing my insecurities than you have obviously sniffed too many farts in your day.
