Finally putting together my short film. Had the idea rolling in my head for the past year and finally put in down on paper last month and have been working on it ever since. I'm continuing Pre Production through out October and beginning to film in November.

Even if you can't donate I'm appreciate it if you would just share this with everyone.

Kinda crazy, but after I funding went live, and posted on Facebook and Twitter, I was able to raise $770 out of $1000 in a matter of 7hrs. I've never done funding like this before but it seems to work pretty well.
 
that's impressive. Is it really only $500 to rent a RED scarlet? With how much support you have already, you should have upped it to $3,000 or so, $1000 isn't going get to far. looks good though, congrats
 
In LA prices are pretty competitive since there are so many rental house, that I don't need any lenses. Yeah, I had no idea that it would have taken off like that.
 
is this a website like kickstarter but for art? this is amazing, how does it work? This could be great for some short film projects I have.

 
It is Kickstarter, just another version. Yeah there is a "Film" category.

Details-

If you make your goal IndieGoGo takes out 4%, if you miss your goal they take out 9%.

If someone pays by PayPal you get the money right away, if they pay from credit card, you get the money when the campaign is over.

After 24hrs I made it past my goal. Just goes to show you how social networks can get with that. Basically if a friend or family donated, I would post it on facebook and twitter, tag them and include a link. That way it posts to their wall for all of their friends to see.

Ha, No worries man. It's all good.

PreProduction continues through October and filming is on November 10th and 11th. I can't wait!!
 
Theres a rental house near my apartment that has everything from HDSLRs to the Alexia, F65's and REDs. He's cutting me a deal because I've never rented with him before.

Still under 24hrs and I'm at $1510...
 
Just curious, did you you spread this around a lot, or did the regular goers of indiegogo just want to support your project? Your short seems really cool by the way.
 
awesome and great idea. cant wait to see the final product.I'll admit i chuckled like a little boy when I heard butka tho. no worse than people calling me bitchoff in school tho.
 
Finally filming tomorrow. Got my RED Scarlet yesterday. I've put so many hours into it these past 2 weeks with permits, planning, paperwork, etc.

Filming tomorrow and Sunday. Can't wait!!

Not yet. For the past 3-4 weeks I've been working everyday going a night job and day job, but now I have time to relax and go back to editing. Hopefully I'll get it done for January.

As for MatRich, graphic design is my weak point, I'm having another guy design it for me.
 
that makes sense, I was scared that this would be a final look. I am always super rough with these things because it can easily destroy a good film.
 
2 weeks? I had a few issues and delays. Finally finished the final cut, sent off to the composer, sent of to sound design, now I'm doing color grading.
