Is weather sealing a must?

I'm buying a camera to start pumping out some fire edits, and I have my eyes set on the Sony a6000, but it has no weather proofing, how essential is weather proofing when shooting on a mountain?
 
If you are careful with your camera it wont matter too much, just don't bury it in snow.
