Is U of U a party school?

I’m a freshman at usu this year and I didn’t really understand that this school is insanely mormon. I came here expecting some halfway decent parties but even after joining a frat they’re still all complete shit.

Is the U any better?

Also if anyone here at usu is tryna chill or shred this winter I’m 100% down.

Instead of whining on the Internet, why don't you organize some parties?

Or are you just part of that entitled generation that expects everything to be given to them without putting forth any effort, and it's always everyone else's fault and never yours?

You should go to TGR with all the other crusty old men

Sack up and find some people to hang with who aren't complete scrubs and throw a banger party. I didn't know my college was a dry campus until day 1 of orientation. Still managed to make it work and have some killer parties

Idk I went to a frat party at the u back in August and that shit was mad ass.

westminster kids throw the fuck down, if you wanna party..link with those homies. Westminny is fuckin lit

Yeah you'll find much more to do around u of u and westminster, usu is not where you wanna be if you're trying to party.

Back in my day the skies were bluer, the grass was greener, and the parties were wilder. The millennials ruined everything

Logan in general is pretty ass. Nosey cops, shitty nightlife and it's a Mormonopolis. Like USU, the U is a dry campus, but literally across the street from the stadium the entire street is lined with parties.

I wish I could but I live on campus. There’s parties at the frat every weekend but they’re always dead and we aren’t really allowed to invite anyone besides girls.

What are the options for places to have parties? All my friends live on campus besides one of them that has an apartment.

I rest my case

At the U of U, we did the majority of "partying" in the dorms, beer pong, music, everyones right there it was super easy. We definitely had rooms we hung out in more often, but we always bounced around campus. Otherwise, there were always parties in town, westmini neighborhood had blowouts every weekend, ask around your friends enough and you'll find a party. But in the end, sometimes the best partying is on campus, frat or dorms.

Yeah I’d be fine with that, here all the dorms here are suites with 6-8 people and theyre always at least 50% mormon so I don’t think dorm parties would go over well with them

Dorm: have a small party not too rowdy if a dry campus. Befriend your RA so they don't give a shit about what you do.

Your friends apartment: ummm there

Or meet a ton of people and when the word gets out of a party, show up. Not sure if clubs r still a thing but getting trashed and heading to those were quite fun for the first year of college (notice how I said first year only).

I’m not sure how long it’s been since you were at the U, but the dorms are dead. The partying is relegated to the frats now as they got popular the last few years.

I was in the dorms in 07-08 so yeah I'm sure its different...

Dorms were pretty live last year. I heard they brought drug dogs around once this year which they never have in the past. Apparently a lot of stupid freshman getting busted made some dorms quieter.

no school in utah is a party school. I went to u of u last year and was in a fraternity their. coming from seattle it was a huge step down on every level, besides the great outdoors which are amazing.

Yeah the second part of your statement here is the key to going to school in Utah, especially in hindsight. When you get older and look back at your college experience, getting drunk isn't at the top of the list for me. Granted, when you're in college you drink pretty often (if you choose) but the outdoor recreation is why going to college in Utah is awesome and the skiing scene is unreal, so many homies are going to be in your class that you'll meeting, ski with, party with and have a great fucking time.

Yeah a few freshman got taken out. Just be smart and don’t smoke fat in your room. I think they only come in if they could smell weed from the outside of the dorm.

I mean if an RA walks by and they can smell weed down the hallway then they're supposed to call the cops. People need to be smarter about it if they decide to smoke weed in the room, like make your own smokebuddy or sploof, spray like half a can worth of febreeze in the room and in the hallway, and take snaps instead of full bowl packs or joints. That could simply solve the problem of getting busted by the cops for possession.
