Is TYW ok?

TYW reminds me of Simon Dumont in that he is not afraid to break himself. Daaaamn.

I hope he gets better soon. Great skier.

I feel really bad for the dude. Park skiing at that level I guess it comes with the territory. But after listening to his Podcast with Mike Powell it really put in perspective what kind of freak bad luck with injuries & life threatening infections this very talented cat has had to deal with. (I suppose I should mention his short film “Back to Life” also)

Heal up quick TYW, you’re a badass

Yeah I remember seeing Dumont blow his ankle going for the QP record falling like 40 feet to flat, plus many pipe crashes, the 2 of them are among my biggest inspirations for similar reasons. Hope he heals by X games but after that I'd bail on pipe.

Dumont did hurt his ankles as in severely bruised them but I din't think he blew his ankles as he went on afterwoods to do the cork 9 and break the world height record. I really hope T is good hes a super down to earth person and one of the best skiers in the game his style and trick selection top 5 in the game. That crash was so heavy.. the half cab he did over the hip the day before during the team challenge was so so sick. Does any one know if he's ok?

Doesn't it make you wonder the amount of talent that once existed were destroyed due to a few unlucky injuries? What if there was the next "henrik harlaut" of today but had a few injuries and never got to see the spotlight

If you start thinking about that you also have to think about People who don't have the oppurtinity to ski at all or just a few days per year...

Idk if you're an NBA fan but Joel Embiids story always makes me think about this type of thing. Was basically plucked out of Africa at the last minute and now is a multi-millionaire celebrity bball player. Crazy.

Who says I sleep in the forums? BTW quit being an asshole. This thread is about Torin Tomatoe Wallisch being dead.

Why the hell do these kind of things keep happening to him? Is this a conspiraski because he is the chosen one to save style in pipe?

I mean one reason is that he just charges and goes massive. His pipe skiing has always been a little bit on the reckless side, just because of how big he consistently goes. Really no room to not land the trick when you’re doing what he is doing.

Sad stuff that he has just destroyed himself skiing Pipe, when honestly TYW could be focused on so many different aspects of skiing. I was stoked to hear the announcer say he was thinking about switching to slope style full time

TYW, unlike a lot of other competition jocks, has no restraint. He throws down, and I really appreciate that about his riding - it's what makes him so exciting. But it's got consequences, and that really sucks.

I think it's going to be a hard comeback from dual broken heals. Really. This is a bad one for sure. He's gonna have to ski powder now, which isn't the worst thing in the world.

I think the entire NS community wishes the best for him.

hahaha "quit being an asshole." Did I just beat skiierman at his own game? Does Scott actually ski? Tune in next week to see if this mormon chasing loser actually responds....

Basically exploded both heels, plus a broken nose from taking knees to the face. No back/neck issues as far as I've heard.

Fingers crossed for good recovery... that's got to be a miserable one to come back from. Seriously sending him the best vibes, that was a fucking scary crash.

Not as bad as I thought. I'm surprised he didn't walk away under his own power... must have been playing it up for the cameras.

Yea mate I think that Dew or X was supposed to be his last pipe events and he was transitioning to slope after that. Hope he'll be able to pursue that later this season or next year.

I’m not in any place to tell someone what path they should take their career but I’d like to see him film a lot more. His skiing is a pleasure to watch & would be so stoked to see a full segment from him.

It it seems the injuries largely stem from the intense contest circuit so it’s just a thought I’ve been having
