Is torsional rocker the new thing?

DPS started talking about the spoon 2 or 3 years ago, and since then surface has come out with a new ski simular to the spoon, and elan came out with a whole line of all mountain/ powder skis like this, and a park ski with a simular technology.

Is this gonna be the new rocker?

I haven't been able to get on something like this yet, but has anyone tried any of these skis?

Whoa watch your mouth their buddy.

Torsional rocker, 3D basses, Deep dish, convex basses call it what you want. I think we'll see it featuring more and more in ski design. However as the technology becomes more mainstream, on the vast majority of skis claiming to have the technology, it will be very watered down. Like any new technology, there needs to be trail blazers such as the spoon, but you wont see such extreme profiles on your everyday skis.

It's been around in snowboarding in various forms for years. I can see it coming in more and more certainly. I think it's going to be fairly big on those aspiring all mtn skis more then anything, as it can make the skis pivot faster without the fear of catching an edge. Also makes initiating turns to some extent easier so yeah like rocker starting off in pow skis and moving in to all skis I can see this moving into a lot of skis

I think ill keep my boat haul on my boat. But some spoon underfoot for the rail killers could provide for longevity in park skis... so I doubt we will see that anytime soon.
