sorty time!

so this past saturday my friend went to pats peak where he has a season pass and goes every day. he was with this girl who bought a day pass that was good until 4. they were riding on the park tow lift when 4 came and didnt realize it and just kept taking laps. half hour later they go to the main lift where there is someone actually checking tickets. he sees that the girls ticket is expired. now usually at any mountain i've been to if you have a recently expired pass they just tell you you cant ride anymore and have to leave. but this time the guy told them to go to skier services. they made their way to skier services but didnt go in right away. instead they went to pack their stuff. the guy who was checking tickets followed them, flipped out, called all of the places security and threatened to call the police. then they took them to the main office or some shit and made the chick pay $100 for having a ticket that expired less than 30 minutes ago.

Think thats stupid? next they took my friends season pass along with his brothers season pass. no refund or anything, just taken. gone.

anybody else think this is bs?/think they would have a good case to fight it and get their passes back? i do.
 
that's so beat. Guy's a fucking nazi.

I know some ticket scanners that legit when they see someone fumbling for their pass say: I honestly don't give a shit if you have it or no go ahead.
 
Fuck pats dude i went there once and the montain was closing at 4 so they had pretty much closed everything but me and my friend went and tried to get on one last time. One guy was yelling no and the lift person said we could so i was on the lift infront of my friend and the guy who said we couldnt came and made him get off and he followed him back to the lodge where he told the he was gonna come get me and we were in big trouble. So i went up and i went down as fast as possible(not knowing he was comming after me) just so i could meet up with my friends. So i got down to the lodge where my friends should have been and i took off all my stuff and they said they ran from him. We didnt get in trouble cause we escaped but just the fact he like chased us is gay as fuck. Not chill
 
Even though I don't agree with it I can understand the $100 fine, but taking the seasons pass's is complete overboard.
 
that's absolutely ridiculous. i sincerely hope they can all talk someone reasonable and get their passes back.
 
especially the kid's brother's season pass, who (if i remember correctly, shit) had nothing to do with this.
 
the other day i had a pass that expired at 2:30, finally someone checked my pass at 7 and he told me i could have one more run then had to go.
thats such bullshit they took there seasons passes and the 100 bucks man. think of a way you could fight that
 
states race there tommorow, second one this year, place blows chunks when it comes to shit like that.

pats just hates skiiers loll i love pats as my home mountain but rail jams with no skiiers allowed? all snowboarding judging? park crew with 1 or 2 skiiers, and focused on their racing. i hate it, and theres like 2 or 3 lift people that are chill but the pass checkers and all the other lift people are just older and dicks. Sunday I saw a pass checker at pats watch a snowboarder not stop at all and go straight into the lift line for the park double lift and then sprint over to him and tackle him right into the fence that seperates the lines watch them both get up and then the pass checker say sorry i just need to check your pass kid shows him his pass and then the pack checker goes oh yeah sorry i already knew you had a pass and walk away? what a dick, like what worker full out tackles a snowboarder like the kid got rocked haha, why not just wait till he laps down again and get him to see if he has his pass next time? sorry that guy just pissed me off for being such a dick lol
 
Just sent an email to pats copying and pasting this entire thread and these two paragraphs i wrote,

I would not say you guys have a bad reputation within the freestyle skiiers around the area but thats the way it is headed. Not trying to tell you guys you are doing a bad job because I love pats peak it is my home mountain, but you might want to have a talk with the pass checkers and not have such harsh punishments, also one other thing, please try to get more skiiers involved with the park crew. I mean it's a little ridiculous that skiiers aren't allowed in the rail jams and that the skiing division of big air is judged by snowboarders. Other mountains have a bigger involvment of skiiers in the park and skiiers are allowed at the competitions. I mean even mcintyre a much smaller resort than pats peak allows skiiers and snowboarders in their rail jam and big air competition. Please try to rethink things, also I think it would be a good idea to try and find out who these kids were who's passes were taken away and try too refund their passes as that is also a little ridiculous.

 
i dont know, had a race there friday, they fucked us over. scheduled 2 events for 2 divisions on one day. we only got one run on slalom. didnt care tho, grabbed the blends and hit the park.

but patss had bad conditions for the girls states today, my girlfriend said it sucked hard

yeah fuck big air at pats because its pretty much spin to win. Like sam higley did a regular 9 and got first and chris dakoulas did a cork 7 with i think it was a japan grab and got second?
 
states are at sunapee still, i was there for the girls today to watch and guys are there, fair warning the slalom course may end up as a downhill hockey rink
 
Didn't really do a grab, but it could have gone either way. And I did a true nose 5 and lost to an ungrabbed five for 3rd.

like it or not the girl broke the rules. she knew what they were and it is her responsibility to face the consequences as per the agreement when she bought the ticket. thats the reality of the situation.

although I definitely would not have gone that far I can understand enforcing rules so that they don't get a reputation for not checking passes or enforcing rules and having people take advantage of that.

regarding the season passes. if the entire story is told how it happened and subordination didnt happen season pass revoking is absolutely unnecessary. especially of the brother if he was indeed not present or have anything to do with the situation.

there are a couple things you can do if you are really angry. 1. tell the upper most management the story and express your dismay and how it makes you not want to be a returning customer and if your situation doesnt improve let them know you will send a letter to the local newspaper and submit an inquiry to the better business bureau. if they don't help submit the story to the BBB.

in a capitalist market it is up to the consumers to pick and chose what products we want by what we purchase. The idea that some resorts get about having a monopoly on their local market is completely unfair and unamerican.
 
ok so i basically agreed with this whole thread until this.. when you want things to go your way in situations such as this, you need to be respectful, intelligent, and professional. this is email is far from all of those. sorry man, but i disagree with how you handled the situation.

that sucks.

a couple guys at springs resemble S.S. Officers when they check tickets. the runs are 30 sec and they will admit that they remember checking your pass 30 sec ago last run but still WILL NOT let you get on with out showing them your pass. like really?
 
hahahh that sucks. i got seasons pass so i just lap park and dont worry about times. but instead next time just say d00d when did it get to be 4? and play it off like u have no idea of the time and they should be fine. i know all the lifties there and they know i have a pass so they dont even look at it any more
 
basically tell them you have the knowledge and resources to make it hurt them professionally. if you want more help feel free to pm me. doing things like this would look good on my resume.

where have you been? everyone knows that a flailing arms 5 trumps a clean grabbed 5 anyday at Pats. but yeah, that's fucked up. I woul've been pissed
 
Because like it was said before that is theft of services. I think it is a little overboard and they could have just told her to leave but since the rules were broken they can do that. Taking of the seasons' passes is just wrong though.

yeah pats sucks, today we had states. and girls were there yesterday, they didnt groom out the mtn, then let it snow 3 inches on top . they didnt even take out the course, get your shit together pats. youre gonna lose all your business
