Is there a soft park ski w a race base?

I was wondering today if there's a soft park ski w a race base... ? Obviously less common but wondered if anyone makes one ???

on3p filthy rich isn't soft, but the elliptical rocker makes them VERY playful yet still super solid so you can stomp landings

apparently the new TC anthem skis have a sintered base, if that isn't soft well then, i dont even knwo

punx are decently soft and playful, they suck for all mountain however.

You have got to be kidding me. They don't go that much faster. I've ridden both sintered and non-sintered bases and the difference is very small. Sintered bases accelerate a little quicker and carry speed a little further, but anyone that has ridden both knows the difference is not night/day. A sintered bases doesn't call for a stiffer ski, that's just dumb exaggeration.

Accelerating faster is honestly is huge deal for some people. I go skiing at a hill. Honestly like 250 feet vertical or something. I cannot hit jumps most days on my afterbang unless no wind/fast snow. My alpha 1s with sintered I can pretty much atleast most of the jumps whenever I want. Out of curiousity, were the skis you rode with sintered well waxed/taken care of etc?

base is a big factor. it really comes down to whether you can hit the knuckle or you are going to land in the sweet spot.

A sintered base CAN be faster if you habitually wax it properly. A poorly maintained sintered base is quite slow, on par with extruded. You remember the Dew Tour stop last year when LJ borrowed a pair of Armada skis because conditions were so sticky that his extruded base Lines caused him to be too slow and come up short on landings?

An extruded base really is not comparable with a properly maintained sintered base. And a normal sintered base does not compare to a race quality sintered base. Race bases use the highest grade base material you can get, which when maintained properly is much faster than a normal sintered base. A real race base is honestly not used on park skis. When companies say "race base" they usually mean a nice sintered base, still better than normal sintered but not true world cup level quality.

I never said that there was zero difference! The point I was trying to make was that an extruded bases DOES NOT need a stiffer ski, that's just dumb logic.

Pretty on point. You could make a park ski with a true race base, but the ski would be a pain in the ass to maintain to get the benefits of the super nice base. It would also be the most expensive park ski on the market.

Soft sintered base park skis, thats a better question.

i've always thought a sintered base would make a ski stiffer, is that true?

the bases on my disorderlys are slow as shit, and are really soft and have lots of gouges and whatnot. i really want a faster base cause at night when the park landings are solid ice, i want to go faster.

Thanks a bunch, ---> if you like givin gear advice, read on :P

---> Quick points helping me decide:

I had a bad experience w alphas... them and me... just didn't mix. Looooooved my THalls... but after all the miles I put on 'em, they're dead now.

I love the idea of early rise, thats why i bought alpha two years ago and not a new Thall... If I didn't like the alpha, is it typical to not like most early rise style... ?

And extra speed isn't always a good thing. I find that if my park skis are tuned up like a race ski, on a fast day I have to do way more turns than I'd like to just to keep from overshooting. There's a happy medium to be found with a park quality sintered base.

Plus sintered bases are more porous, thus they hold wax better (my tune shop buddy said this), so they ski a lil more consistently.
