everytime i try to upload a new icon it comes up with the one I have now or the Basic NS one.
Is there a reason It won't let me change my icon?

same thing happened with me, heres what i did:
1. make sure that the pic is 50x50 pixels. 2. make sure its under 8kb
if that doesnt work after following the first 2 steps,
3. remove ur current icon (press remove icon)4. then, add your new icon
if that still doesnt work,
5. go to a different web browser (chrome, firefox, IE) depending on what you have and repeat steps 1-4

I have here almost 7 years, and have never changed my icon. I would have no idea how to do it.

Yeahhh, I deleted my icon and tried uploading a new one. My old one just showed up again haha. Must be the media uploader that they are currently working on. I'm surprised it is part of the icon uploader.

Sometimes you have to clear your cookies before the new icon will show (other people see it but you don't). However, it appears that this may not be the case... if you try clearing your cookies and nothing changes, then one person should bring this to the attention of a mod.

I changed mine like this:
1. Look if you old icon is a gif or jpg.
2. save your new icon as a gif if the old one was a jpg. Save it as a jpg if the old one was a gif.
3. make sure its exactly 50X50 and under 8kb.
4. now it should work.

I should also add that if you want a gif as your icon and you had an a gif as your old icon too, just upload a temporary icon in jpg and then upload the gif.

I am having sort of the same problem, but when i try to change my icon, i can never get it to abide by both of the 50x50 and under 8kb constraints. It is either not quite 50x60 or over 8kb. SOMEONE HELP!

I'm having a problem changing my icon now. I tried all the steps above too. It changes, but then when I change the page it disappears... I tried deleting my old one and changing it but it left me blank. Any suggestions?
