I saw a couple videos of it and maybe it would be a good alternative to practice rails and stuff during summer..

anyone doing some?

I used to when I was younger. I was probably better at aggressive inline than skiing for awhile. I mean yeah skating transition and developing balance as well as learning to grind on skates is awesome and super fun. There are some mega differences though mainly speed. Unless you are really good at rollerblading the majority of your tricks are going to be done at about 5 mph or less. Kind of hard to replicate skiing unless you are gnarly AF and have a death wish

Fuck the haters and the nay'sayers man, rollerblading has been the best supplemental activity to skiing I've ever picked up. It might not be your thing, but a lot of similarities in tricks and overall feeling of using your edges where I bet you could progress a lot faster since you may have some competency in sliding metal sideways/spinning already. Hit me up if you have any questions regarding sizes or skates. I always say if you can get one person into blading over the course of your blading career, you've done your job to keep the sport alive.

Blading is sick. I spent like every day last summer blading on the mini ramp at the skate shop until the owner kicked me out. Apparently their insurance doesn't cover rollerblading. Definitely was a good way to stay fresh and reinforce balance and all that

Heard anything good about K2's Skates? I was looking at getting some as they're pretty much the only ones I can get here in NZ and I can get em cheap through supplier. Also hows sizing with skates in general? I ski in a 26.5 boot

I used to aggressive skate many moons ago. Could see some possible benefit. Balance and bravery if nothing else.....

Blading is fun, imo more fun if you learn transition and focus less on doing "ski" tricks. Either way will definitely help with skiing because landings require much more precision.

I feel like blading is a lot harder than people give it credit for. You really have to land perfectly or else you get a face full of concrete

blading is super fun, all the different grinds feel so sick. I feel like it helps my skiing for sure especially sw skiing / rail balance

I do it, and I have a lot of fun with it, it’s very creative, there are a lot of ways to hit rails and you can turn anything into a feature. People may judge but I find a majority of people in a skate park respect it because you have nothing to bail out of so you take the worst slams in a park usually, learning to do it can be painful. Fortunately the area I live has a good group of people who do it. And I learned a lot from them .You can mimic skiing really easily on them , that’s were I started but I fell in love with the sport as a whole.

I skate on the Rollerblade new jack 2 they were the only ones sold at the store (play it again sports), I got them for 130$ other cheaper blades are the USD realm and Razor genesis . Or Razor Cult

I would say unfortunately in this case to probably stay away from K2. I’m tempted as well, but they have been slowly making less and less stuff over the last few years as I think an exit from the blading market. Idt they even dropped a 2020 line so anyone trying to get a pair of new blades that won’t break the bank, I’d go with either the razor cults, THEM 908s, or roces m12s. I ride the USD AEONs and love them. Hit me up if you have any other questions @a_swerverton @tallboyzbladeteam

I agree with what's been said here. The only K2 blading product I have bought is wheels as they are cheap but real blading companies wheels are far more durable if you have the money. I can vouch for the Roces M12s been rocking them with Ground Control BIG frames for about 5 years. The BIG frames allow you to put bigger wheels on while still having a grind bar so you can whip off shit. I mainly jump off stair sets and like whipping switch down big hills.

This is my favorite blading segment:

As others have said you can definitely get a face full of concrete here's myself after crashing a mach 10 switch 1:

I used to inline but once you get decent and start skating things like handrails it gets scary and painful I quit after a broken wrist and a dislocated patella it just got more scary then fun for me.

Ive got valo david sizemores that i take out to my nearest skatepark every once in a While. Good practice for skiing. One time there were 3 girls there on fucking rollerskates and one was trying to drop into a 3 foot quarter pipe and failed in the most ungraceful cringey way possible. She like dangled one foot halfway down off the edge then basically rolled on her ass down to the bottom and spun out. The hardest part about rollerskating is telling your parents you are 1500 times gayer than a rollerblader.

back on inlining though, last yr roces canceled their deal with valo and basically took valos low cuff v13 design and made their new majestic 12 lo which look fucking awesome and are stiff as the valo v13 sizemores (which were stiffer than the normal v13s) or possibly stiffer. If your foot and heel fits in valos they are what you want.

They dropped a bunch of rec skates in 2020 but no aggressive skates.

K2 blades are great though lol, idk what you're talking about. Also they're softboots so you don't need to worry about the shell size vs the liner size, you just get your size

Blading has taught me to land dead centered on the bolts of my skis every jump lol
