Is PVC weak??

I did use the searchbar just now but I really couldn't find anything related to my question..

I heard that PVC breaks really easily. Is this true?

I have a metal rail but it's too high so I'm going to cut it down.. eventually. A couple weirdos are coming over today to help build and sesh a temporary rail until I can fix my other one. I only need the pvc rail to last a couple weeks.

It doesn't get much colder here than -5 degrees celcius right now, I don't know if that will affect the pvc.

Any other tips would be appreciated.

:)

i put a metal pipe through my pvc for my skate rail and it held up for a couple of years with me when i weighed 240lbs. just get a metal pipe that has the same outside diameter as the pvc's inner diameter.just lube it up and slide it in(i know someone will like that phraseing)

yea it breaks real easily. select a size pvc rail n then take the next size down n put it through the bigger one that'll make it sturdiear.

Make a beast like the flat rail in my pics. That thing will never break. Its a year old and has taken the beating of countless summer sessions.

yeah and thats cause you made it well supported and fucking nice.

if you dont make it good and with a lot of support, then the pvc will prbably break

If we get real, put pop, poppin' at your blocks equal

Take these niggas and throw 'em in lakes, it's business

Rake these niggas on the mic, display your ninjas

Nines crowns verses your nine towns

Run up with nine 9's, brown down, get to lyin' you down

My friend makes crazy pvc rails. A fdf, up, a 20' double barrel, an fd, and a flat 6"drop flat. All are strong as hell, and they are super easy to make If the pvc breaks for some reason, you can replace it in all of 5 minutes and a 20' length costs like 4 bucks. You can't go wrong.

Thanks for the advice but I decided just to use some kind of metal copin on a piece of wood instead.. works fine.

Another question:

What is the best idea for an inrun??

there is different strength pvc. get sched 40 and it will not break. that shit is super strong.

the part that will break is where u have mounted it to the wood. if you use a bunch of smaller sized pvc or con-doits u should be fine.

NO. pvc is the worst choice for you. if you land a bit goofy on it you will cause it to have a gouge....wich means the next time you hit it your skis will stop and you will keep going.

Here's the deal with building a rail. If you want something that will last but will be difficult to build (if you want to do it right) do metal. If you want to build a rail with ease that will eventually break sooner, but will be easier to replace, do PVC. It's a simple as that. While pvc is easier to attach to a support and replace, it will definitely break sooner, due to he fact that it's plastic.

It should be fine just tur to get some of the thicker shit mines made out of schedule 40 i think? works fine

the worst thing about PVC is that it is soft as butter. My edges were detuned and they still cut into the pipe.
