ok well i just got my associates degree and have always aspired to live out west. i live in buffalo new york. (highest point in the county 1,950 feet). i have always wanted to to live the ski bum life but wanted to save up some loot and get my first degree. i am trying to find a good, but practical place to go. i cant move to canada,as bc would be legit as fuck. so i have just under 10000$ saved up, a truck and a sled, along with the aspirations to leave this industrial wasteland. im ready to do it. i have north lake tahoe, and durango colorado in mind both of them have legit schools where i can further my degree. is the idea of just getting up and moving with a few friends a shitty idea because everyone i know thinks its a horrible idea. do i need more money? where are some ideal places to live in your opinion? def appricheate the feedback, though im sure this thread happens all the time

Yo man I live in Durango and it's a sick place to live but your going to need more than some cash, and a job lined up before you get into town. Its expensive to live here, but so worth it. Some of the best back country skiing in Colorado right out of town. Fort Lewis is deffinately a sick school, and is pretty damn cheap for the kind of education you can get, and the type of environment that you get to learn in.

hope that helps a little bit.

Bozeman, Montana.

the illest. Bridger, Big Sky and Moonlight all within the hour.

and a cool ski community here too

why the hell would that be a bad idea? that sounds like the time of your life. Tahoe sounds good to me but as far as schools go i would say Bozeman.

soo i hav a few buddies who go to fort lewis down in durango and they love the school and the slopes they get mad powder and im always down there shredding with them so imo id say go durango

you dont have it on there but if u wanna ski and go to a good college try salt lake city. you will save lots of money because the place is cheap as balls... plus i think it was still snowing there like 2 days ago lol

If you truly have the desire for this, than you can make it work. My personal suggestion would to be to goto either Orgeon, or Tahoe, somewhere with a long ski season, so you can ski as long as possible, and get the most out of your money.

agreed. MSU is right there if you're trying to take more classes and the skiing is so dope.

I had 1600 dollars and a job lined up with big sky and drove straight out there the day after I graduated. best decision ever. it's pretty cheap to live too compared to a lot of resort towns. my buddy and i got a 2 bd 2 ba apt for 700/mo with utilities included.

i have a couple of budies that live in tahoe. sierra nevada college is expensive as fuck. il look into montana. a bit closer to home. i need cheap living too
