Is michigan really fucked?

15. Will State Police troopers be working?

A limited number of Michigan State Police troopers will provide law enforcement service on an emergency basis.

get in your car and just go for it. sick

All Department of Civil Rights activities will stop during a government shutdown. Residents wishing to file a discrimination complaint will be able to leave a message at 1-800-482-3604 with the details of their complaint.

Nice.

oh shit detroit is probably going to be soooo crazy. wow, this shit could get ugly. just wondering if detroit would "get out of control" could some type of marshall law be implimented?

ah i love michigan but this is fucked up

remember though that michigan has a huge number of independant militias that could do some fuckin damage if the state troopers are being little bitches. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out

i live there and i'm kinda excited in a bad way. i think we'll find out tomorrow at the start of the fiscal year, which is also my birthday...lolzzz

grab a set for me too, and a nice flat panel tv. Will you really be able to just drive around without having to worry about the cops? That would be ballin

Theres still going to be police in michigan. There will be less state troopers but still the same number of city cops.

I don't really think this shutdown is going to affect me at all, unless of course it goes on for more than 21 days and my university has to shut down. Which would be pretty sweet.

In my hometown 2/4 bridges that cross the river that go through the middle of the city are going to be closed. I remember how much traffic sucked when one of them was closed for construction. I can't imagine whats gonna happen when two are closed. I'm glad I'm not there.

If this shutdown goes on for too long these are the only two things that I can see causing problems

55. Can I buy alcohol?

Liquor sales are regulated by the state and therefore will stop during a government shutdown. Stores will be able to sell the inventory they have on hand, but will be unable to purchase additional inventory.

56. Can I buy cigarettes?

In order to be sold, cigarettes must contain a State of Michigan tobacco tax stamp. Stores will be able to sell the inventory they have on hand. However, if a wholesaler does not have sufficient stamps, cigarettes that do not carry a stamp cannot be sold to retailers.

I actually kinda hope this shutdown goes on for a while so I can see what it would be like if nobody could smoke or drink.

there should still be beer sales though. usually that is different than liquor. i'd love to see stores without cigarettes though. my university/college luckily isn't going to be affected at all by this.

yea shit is fucked here, i have to take the long route to school now and its gunna take me like a hr to get to school

Wow shit sounds crazy. Im from europe and havent heard anything about nor can i find anything about it on the news. So can someone plz update me

hahaha wow...you guys....

its just a bunch of Bull that the Executive and Judiciary branches are spewing out so the Legisative Branch will do somthing fast.

YES it may happen, but it will be solved extremely quickley if it does, it's happened before in NY

and sorry if I sound like a know-it-all tool

i'm writing a note for myself to bump this back and quote you for when this doesn't get solved really fast.

detroits gonna have like marshall*sp law going on. its michigans fault though having 2 parts to their state. its hard to keep up with 2 pieces of land that large

detroit's gonna be hella sketch

iim glad here its just mexicans with no jobs

not east coasters with no jobs and no cops around

nobody even cares about the upper peninsula. my hometown is almost as far north as you can be in the UP. but your statement is 100% stupid.

i live like 20 minutes outside of detroit. it's going to be funny if people can't buy smokes, but hopefully beer will still be for sale.

On a side note, i didn't know having a sucky state football team could affect your government. I mean, come on guys, it's just one bad season, you don't have to dissolve the legislature and plunge your entire state into anarchy over it...

or maybe you do, what the fuck do i know?

haha, sometimes you never know on here.

there was a parasite (forget the name) that was infecting certain trees in the lower half, and they were travelling across the mackinaw bridge to the UP from people carrying firewood for camping and such. so wood going north isn't allowed.

they're trying to prevent the spread of genital warts, so they'll turn you back at the bridge and make you go around Lake Michigan if you have them.

Seriously, it's to prevent the spread of invasive species.

MOST of my posts that sound really stupid are me being sarcastic. the one that got me the golden wheelchair was a saecasm and so was the thread.
