Is Jiberish still a ski brand?

Put out a few short edits per year and still "sponsor" some skiers so I guess they are still somewhat core to skiing. Props to jiberish tho they've expanded their market and i'm assuming done very well financially. IMO they are literally just a hypebeast culture brand in 2021 tho...

I would say the stuff is not necessarily made for skiing in but it’s still 100% skiers who buy it. They still put out edits and support good skiers so I’m not sure why some people have a problem with them

Not sure how I feel fully I am happy for their success but it leaves me feeling like they used the ski market as a stepping stone to get to a level where they could gain a wider audience. however this does not mean that you can ignore all the edits and hype and money they have previously invested in the sport.

Not sure that they really used it as a stepping stone. If their end goal was to just make streetwear for a large audience, it would have been an insane amount of extra effort/money to go out of their way to sponsor skiers, make edits, etc. Seems like they just realized more people than just skiers were interested in their stuff and started capitalizing on that. They're still a relatively small business, can't really blame them. Feels like more of an evolution of the brand which, while it's a bummer for us, is probably exciting for them

Every piece sold out in 24 hours so good for them either way. And nevermind.. peep the name on the gift card.. Jiberish still core af:

Or wait. Brogan’s no longer a skier. So does that mean by the associative property....?

Nah still core

I think the $30 leather coin/key tray during last drop says how core they are to skiing

That was made by Jeff Curry, OG Line skier, one of the two founders of Treefort Lifestyles (ski brand) and owner of Dark Forest USA. Not that much of a stretch.

I was under the assumption jiberish was on the decline... had to close down stores and assumed the transition to the hypebeast world didn't pan out. But evidently they sold out in 24 hours ( which is great to see!).

Does anyone have the word on where this resurgence of interest has come from? Or perhaps its very limited quantity.

I think they do some pop up shops in streetwear shows etc, word of mouth and the infamous social media marketing. I remember walking around Boston and saw a bunch of yeezy wearing, joggers and fannypack highschoolers wearing some hoodies.

They currently have a legit stacked team with a lot of new heat that keeps releasing banger content. If anything they seem to be making a big play to come back to the core scene

We're just bummed with the way the new drops work that we don't really get to carry any in store.

Had a similar encounter at a skate park in Michigan. Some guy noticed I was wearing a jiberish shirt, and added that he had a few "pieces" himself.

I heard what has changed drastically in Jiberish's model the last few years specifically is them opening up their own manufacturing facility in Pakistan. While the brand Jiberish is probably easily profitable with how much demand there is for their limited quantity, I think where they actually make more of their money is wholesaling their blank shirts/sweatshirts/sweatpants/shorts to other companies who need high quality threads to make their own streetwear

Exactly this. Original Favorites is the name of their blank company, seems like it's taking off and they have really high quality blanks compared to other manufacturers. We use them often in my shop!
