Are the groomers fun enough to spend 70$ a day for 1 or 2 days?
Is it worth driving to hood now that the park is closed?

Cannot speak on this season, but last year I went up when they were rebuilding the park, didn't realize 'til after I bought a ticket...
If you go bring some friends! Plenty of stuff to jib and get some air on. It's a blast skiing Palmer, dunno how Covid-19 has changed things up there...

I hiked up to the Palmer chair last week and skied for free. Not a terrible hike and for sure worth saving. $70

This is the way to do it if you're ballin' on a budget! Hike just above the bottom of Palmer and ski down after the first dozen or so people load the lift.
Some friends and I did that 3 times before they caught us. If they catch you, you're gonna get an earful have to ski back down, or hike if there's not enough snow.
Watchout for Duncan. Heard he's got the binoculars... or did 2 seasons ago ?

Op, where are you driving from? A day of skiing is always worth it imo, especially in august, but that also depends on how far you have to drive to make it happen. Although theres no park right now I believe the cat drivers carved out a few trenches on palmer and made a little chunder pipe so that can be a good time. Also I think the mogul jump might still be up so theres that too.
