hi ns I just got new boots that still fit on my old bindings so I was just going to adjust them slightly my only question is this safe I put my boot into the toepeice and just slid the heal peic into place, I wanted to take it to a shop but my dad says he knows how to do it because 20 years ago he worked in a shop, when he first did it though it was obviously wrong so I fixed it, my dad is stubborn so he won't go to a shop what should do
 
I know but my dad thinks that we don't need to and I can't convince him, does anyone know how to adjust the bindings the right way
 
like 99 percent of bindings have a small bit of adjustment on the heel plate maybe 1 cm or so. All you need to find is a small tab like piece that you stick a screwdriver under and slide to adjust.
 
tell him that if he doesnt wanna pay for surgery on a collarbone he should let you go to a shop. do you need him to drive you or something? cuz if you do find someone who will do it for you. dont put your safety at risk cuz your dad wont get off his high horse
 
Go to a shop.

If you don't though, you need to make sure the forward pressure is set correctly. You'll probably be able to find the location of the forward pressure indicator if you google your binding model. Read the manual, and figure out where it's supposed to be when it's set correctly, then ensure that it's in the right place when your boot is clicked into the binding. Note: this doesn't guarantee that your binding is releasing at the correct values unless it's been tested using shop equipment.

But go to a shop if you really have no idea what you're doing. They'll probably adjust it for free.
 
if your not popping out it shouldnt be a problem. you could also just take it in and have the shop look at it. I doubt they would charge you for advice.

If neither you or your dad know how to read the forward pressure, you definitely need to go to the shop, or else you risk prereleasing like a motherfucker or not releasing and getting hurt.

so many things can go wrong while messing with your bindings. the shop would be you best bet.

tell your dad that because he was wrong when he first tried adjusting your binding, his opinion that you'll be fine without the shop is invalid because he obviously doesnt know much on binding adjustment... or just for your safety.
 
i had salomon spk kreation before with a solelength of 327 i belive. and then i got full tilt with solelenght of 318 so i just moved the heel piece slightly forward. and it works great! (i have marker griffon12)
