Is hunting worth it

Thinking about doing the hunting license. The problem is that it will ruin my ski season next year because the classes for the test are from October-April every weekend. (typical german)

IDK how it works in German, but everyone I know who hunts in the USA hunts til december then skis and not even every weekend. You gonna actually go hunting every weekend for 7 fucking months?

What the hell do you have to study for that long? just curious, in the USA you learn how to hunt with your family in the woods when you're like 12.

Do it. Why cant you hunt during the middle of the week and ski on the weekends, or other way around? Here in the states, the hunting season depends on what you are hunting with or for.

Not talking about hunting just talking about the license it takes half a year in Germany

In Germany the license is harder than a college degree. And I costs like 3000$

Edgy question but I wonder if this helps cut down on hunting accidents?

That sounds entirely ridiculous. 7 months and 3k??

I mean if you want to hunt then I guess go for it.

Ah, I am looking at it now. Looks like they want you to know all about the animals, environment and care for the wilderness along with the gun safety. Interesting. Here(in the states) you take a hunters safety course on line and take a test all for $25. Once you pass, you get your hunters safety cert. and you can get your license from there for another fee for around $40(combo with hunting and fishing).

This makes USA way more appealing.I think I paid around 350€ for my fishing license.that is the course and test only the actual license cost 80€ for 5 years (you don’t have to do the test again after 5 years) and 400€ for a lifetime license

Yes it's worth it. Hunting brings me much more satisfaction than skiing.Plus it's a year-round pursuit with scouting, etc.

Germans like rules, nature, quiet, inefficient policy, and hate guns. It's also one of the most densely populated countries on Earth so there's little open space that you won't likely see another person. It's a perfect storm. Hard to compare to the US since their population density is like 6x ours and the the entire country is only about the size of New Mexico.

Germans do a great job making it seem like there is lots of open space because the towns are surrounded by farm land and such, but if you go for a long bike ride you start to realize there's nowhere private. It's why you can't camp anywhere either. I love Germany, but this was frustrating when you want to get away.

That's how we beat Germany twice. USA USA

Yeah, you'd be surprised at how overly complicated and difficult to get a lot of licences are in Europe.

Take the example of a drivers licence or a motorcycle licence, in Europe you are required to take a certain number of hours of training with a professional before you can even take the test, and of course it's expensive, and then the test itself has trick questions, and a fuckton of people fail their first attempt. Same goes for motorcycle, but even more complicated. So I'm not surprised that the same would apply for a hunting licence.

At the other hand of the spectrum, in the US, the test is pretty much: "Go around the block, if you manage to not kill anyone, congrats, you passed!"

To be fair, road fatality tends to be much lower in Europe, so I guess you could argue that making it so fucking difficult to get serves a purpose, but I still think it's a bit too much.

Murdering animals for fun is not cool. Don’t know how sick fucks enjoy it.

A lot of people hunt for food. I hunted with my dad when I was a teenager but it was never really something I liked, glad i did though. My dad loves hunting even though killing animals does make him kind of sad.

That being said I'd say a good 25% of hunters in my area are dicks and have little ethics and just enjoy killing shit. Especially the generation of hunters my age dont seem to want to put in the time or dont have patience. It's all about driving deer in or placing bait in the off season so deer are more likely to come to you.

Here in Northern Germany we have also compact courses. Three weeks intense course... Like school. Three weeks, including the weekend. I think it would be the best way to have a safe ski season.

Some beautiful animal is minding its own business... doing nothing to you... and you want to shoot it for fun?

I mean wtf?

In Germany beeing a huntsman is not for the fun. You have strict rules of what you are allowed to hunt. You can't shoot anything for fun. It's more about the complete nature.

Taking care of animals with feeding grounds, shooting sick animals etc.

We have strict gun rules. Traps are not allowed. Germany is not America or Canada when it comes to gun and hunting laws...

Is it enough to murder the animal or do you stop and jerk off over the corpse after?

Just curious what the mentally ill do.

This is pretty much the only way I can orgasm....

I've always thought hunting were super sick but never got into it/learned because nobody in my family does. I feel like its one of those things were if you don't start as a kid, you'll never get into it.

Would love to go for a turkey or duck shooting some day, but idk if I could ever kill a deer tbh.

German isn't even in the top 50 for population density. Your facts are retarded.

It's 16th in the world and 4th in Europe....I mean it's a division problem, not an opinion.
