Is Facebook dying?

Well i switched to mainly twitter and insta because all of my friends did and my facebook is just a bunch of black kids talking about how much they love lil wayne and butts in their face
 
Facebook sucks. The only reason I use it is for keeping in contact with groups and stuff that I'm a part of that use it contact their members
 
I havent had fb in 2 years. I was tired of seeing lame posts from people I felt obligated to be friends with. If you dont call me to pick me up at the airport, help me move, ask you for advice, we are not friends. Just because we work together or went to highschool together does not mean we are friends. I am aware I could have simply unfriended people. To me its a hobby much like watching tv. The more you spend time doing it the more you are drawn to it. It makes you less productive much like NS. At least with NS we all share a common interest that brings us together as a community. This to me is more important than people I am required to share experiences with. (coworkers, hs classmates, crazy religious family members, crazy family members).

I have never regretted my decision and the only time it is problematic is when I cant log into some app or webpage bc you need FB.

Twitter isn't going anywhere. It's so integrated into our society now that it's here for good.

The artsy apps might die, but fbook and twitter and for communicating and they do it well.

Anyone who doesn't have one isnt being a cool hipster, they're just being stupid. Even if you don't browse your home screen constantly you neeed it for ppl to contact you

but really, the first one should be modified, Twitter's Purpose + Instagram's Purpose -Lots of a hashtags = Facebook's Purpose

Like you get your pictures of Instagram and your statues of twitter and you get Facebook, minus a bunch of hashtags which people bring to Facebook regardless.

Also Instagram = Facebook because Facebook owns fucking Instagram.

I got a twitter a couple weeks ago and use it all the time now.

Also Instagram. I feel like this will be around for a while.

Well you're eliminating 2 of the 3 functions of facebook by having instagram and twitter, and the 3 by having a phone.

1)OMG photos

2)OMG Statuses

3)OMG chat
 
I mostly got them because Facebook was dying.

All of my friends have them and use them regularly, and rarely use Facebook anymore.
 
not hating on the fact you have it, just that you were talking against it without realizing you are guilty of the same thing. Most of us are guilty and are full of it.
 
So by saying its dying and moving away from it you're killing it further.

As someone that doesn't use Instagram(I don't have a smartphone) or Twitter(I never got into twitter) I use facebook a decent amount, not outrageously, but I still use it.

The main question here is smartphone or no smartphones, as I think the mobile layout for things changes people use on it. Also Facebook lacks hashtags, that for some reason must be a deciding factor because of its use for finding 'trends'.
 
I'll admit it, I'm partly killin Facebook.

And I got a smartphone a few months ago and that changes it. I used to use Facebook a lot before, but with my iPhone I use Instagram and twitter now.

I also think that the hash tags don't really matter to me. A kid amount of my Instagram pics and tweets don't have hash tags, I only use them if they're funny pretty much.
 
It's a cancer on socialization as we know it.

It allows us to pretend we give a fuck, which is just disingenuous at best. We don't care, we're bored. There's a distinct difference. Then there's the duck faces, stupid assholes reposting photoshopped bullshit, and all the "OMG Liek this post or you hate bunnies" shit that makes me want to scream.

I dunno it's ok and it's fun to be able to bust peoples' balls 24/7, but it's ushered in a whole new era of fake people who think the world cares.
 
I really like twitter, it's pretty simplistic and you just get little stories from people. I only use Facebook to look at pictures and chat up girls. I just looked at some of my old statuses from 08 and I was really embarrassed with some of the shit and how often I posted, had to spend half an hour deleting most of my statuses, especially if any future employers look up my history haha
 
facebook sucks if all you do is cruise your newsfeed all day. 80% of my newsfeed isn't even my friends anyways, it's skiing and music pages spamming videos and pictures.

I mostly use facebook for the groups feature. I have a bunch of different groups with different friends in them and we mostly just post whatever shit we find funny or informative. and chat is useful too.

facebook is just easy cause it's the only social network where people use their real names for the most part.
