Is Evo fair with warranties?

My Chronics broke off of a front flip off of a knuckle, where the tail cracked. I weigh 135 lbs and had a din of 6. These boys clearly shouldn’t have broken, and Evo is saying since it was a flip then they cant cover it because it’s impact damage. Anyone have any experiences with Evo’s customer service, or have any tips?

Probably not even evo. I think shops generally use maufacture for warrantee.

Also sounds like impact.Coming down on tail from frontflip. Ive broken a board or two doing that.

Unfortunately with skiing it doesn't always break in a situation where it makes sense. You could have hundreds of insane bails and break nothing, then fall on a baby jump and break it.

Ive had manufactures replace stuff. Ive had them not.

Really depends.

100% your fault they broke. It sucks that it happened but does not sound like a manufacturers defect.

evo is basically a middle man because they end up sending stuff to companies.ive been told to hit up the company instead that it would be faster that way.

i go through 2 pairs of ski a season. if you ski park and land back seat eventually your skis gonna break.be cool maybe line will hook it up.

I hate it when people say this shit. 100% percent chance you have no idea what the fuck happened, and 100% chance a 135 lb middle schooler shouldn't be able to snap a core under any circumstances.

Crap ass Chinese bullshit construction gets blindly supported by people on this website for no reason and if you question the dumpster fire you get flamed. Fuck that.

This has nothing to do with EVO they can only sell what they are given.

Yeah I was just wondering— Evo handles the warranty for line tho so it is them that replaces it— also I’m 16 I’m just small lmao

TBH it goes both ways. I've ridden plenty of skis made in China that lasted just as long as other skis and vise versa. The only thing that bothers me about your post is your encouraging people to lash out against their favorite ski company because they produce their skis in the china, which I think you understand why they do. Telling anyone what you just did says "yeah kids, if you skis are made in china, bitch and moan as much as you can if your skis break, you should get new ones" i think this is a poor attitude to support.

I think its important that younger skiers understand that when you buy skis there is a chance they will break, no matter what company or what ski. If you slam a ski against the ground, or on a rail, or in a ditch, whatever happens, you broke your ski and its your fault. I used to be like these kids, if my ski broke I instantly thought i was entitled to a new free pair because skis shouldn't break, but that is the wrong idea.

Sure there are plenty of scenarios where a ski breaks and its a defect from when it was produced, those situations are very easy for ski manufactures to identify and if that is the case, then yes they should give you new skis. If you contact a company and they say your damage isn't covered, then tough shit. I'm so sick of kids posting on NS about how their skis broke and trying to shit on ski companies because they're pissed about breaking their own skis.

OP you hit your skis on the snow in a manner that they were not made to do, they're made to ski down a mountain and as soon as you hit a jump or rail your chances of your skis breaking goes up 1000%. I'm not sure why you mentioned your DIN, but if you did a front flip and came around to your back and your ski tails slammed into the ground, your bindings are not made to pop out in that situation, bindings are made to release while you are skiing, not when you slam your tails into the ground.

Hit up evo, if they give you new skis thats great, if not suck it up and buy new skis. Most ski companies will offer you a replacement ski at cost, which TBH is a great offer for a random kid who bought one pair of skis, take that offer if its given to you and move on.

What Eheath said^

Tbh breaking a pair of skis is essentially a right of passage in freeskiing. It sucks but it's part of figuring out what brands you really want to be giving your money to. The brands/skis that are lauded on this site wouldn't be so highly regarded if people hadn't had prior experiences like OP's. Live and learn and embrace the privelege that is being able to click into skis in the first place

I've heard nothing but excellent things about Line Skis and they price them so you can afford to buy a couple of pairs a season. Jib focused skiing will break the skis that's a given. Chinese manufacturing does not equal terrible quality and from what I've heard from friends in China some of the factories use state of the art manufacturing techniques and equipment.

But yeah, shit breaks fam.

If you try to do a front flip and slam your tails into the ground, you are lucky if the ski doesn't break. I am very doubtful of you getting your skis replaced, so like, get a job. Line skis aren't that much.

I was hammered when I wrote that, but for the record I have been really critical of people doing public call outs on here. It's not right to air your dirty laundry to the public, especially when the issue hasn't been resolved. That being said I think if I was in this kids position I would be asking some tough questions, albeit in PRIVATE

In my experience the customer service at EVO is very inconsistent. I would try to talk to a different employee or just start with the manager. Such a bro brah place though that I would probably go in to EVO on a completely day and not even mention the first guy that shut you down. It's in there best interest to make you happy. If they send it to Line and Line says you are out of luck then it doesn't cost EVO much of anything to get some good cred with a customer. EVO spends a ton on advertising and they need their image to survive. If they send them to Line and you get a replacement then you'll be super stoked and it's way better for EVO. I wouldn't be surprised if they just try to offer you a beer and not actually help you with your problem so good luck.
