Is bike touring core?

Due to a substantial lack of snow during the summer, i turn to biking, as all of us skiers do.

Mountain biking is cool and all, but i found myself more so enjoying a 150km day ride through long roads, eventually reaching a campsite, waking up at 5 and doing the same thing the next day. I started last summer, and i expect this summer to be as cool. NOTE: i actually dont tour on my skis in the winter. looks to be too much $$. Also i live on the east ??

Just wanted to get peoples insight on that aspect of cycling. What attracts you guys most about MTB?

Bro if I don't let my beer belly hang out of my unzipped lycra how will people in boulder know I ride bro

Nothing entertains me more than overweight “endurance athletes” in tight clothes

I run red lights so I can brag to my friends how I'm the top dog today in the 240+lb male over 45 strava segment that only 3 other people ride

Yes- having hobbies that you enjoy outside of skiing is hella core. Bonus points if it’s a more niche/unusual hobby that you do because you enjoy it.

also not even gonna bring up that thread I made about something I said I was gonna do, and then never did it bc I started racing Enduro instead
