Is anyone really good at english?

heres the problem. i can sit and write an essay for hours on some ramdom ass bullshit topic, but when it comes down to it, i cannot write when its actually something that will be graded.

i have to write a sonnet. you know, a poem.

14 lines

10 syllables per line.

and it has to follow a rhyme scheme, for example:

ABBA CDDC EFFE GG

or

ABAB BCBC CDCD EE

or

ABAB CDCD EFEF GG

i cannot for the life of me write this shit and im just drawing a blank.

can anyone at all be of assistance?
 
does it have to be in iambic pentamiter (sp)? ie, a lilting duh-DUH, duh-DUH rhythm? just write something about skiing.

i went outside to see if it had snowed

i was so stoked i thought i would explode

etc, etc
 
you can write about anything. you can make it really random and just say its symbolic of something else. but to get started, just start by writing one line at a time about anything, then go along with it.
 
haha were doing sonnets too right now. iambic or w/e pentameter or w/e. shakespearean/italian blah blah.
 
i guess what im asking is if anyone has any free time, can you please write me a sonnet. it is due tomorrow and i have nothing.
