i cant help you out, but i know of many sites that I googled where real physics teachers will help explain it to you, through email. if you have some time, i'd google 'online physics help' and mail that file to them.. sometimes you get lucky, and get serious help. hope i can offer something this retard above me didn't

just taking a guess here, but for the first question, wouldn't -35 dB corespong to 10Hz and something beyond 10^4. And -15 dB be 100Hz and 1200Hz?

for number 4 the first harmonic is the 400Hz, but then you also have the 100, 300, and 500 HZ harmonics

For #2, the the amplitude of the composite wave at any point will be the either the sum of the amplitudes of the two waves at the same point.

So say at the start of that wave, the top one is at 0, bottom wave is at -1, composite wave will be at -1. Later where the sine wave bottoms out at -1, the wacky triangle wave is at about 0.75, so the composite would be -.25.

Well, they're represented as harmonics of the fundamental, so the answer would be something like 'the first, 3rd and fifth harmonics', but I have no idea how to figure that out. The fundamental should be the one which repeats the least frequently, but that's not discernable from the graph and I don't know how ELSE to figure it out.

C# is a major third above A, and has a ratio of 5/4, meaning that every fifth harmonic of c# will match every 4th harmonic of A. So, the first set of equal frequency harmonics would be the fourth harmonic of A and the fifth of C#. If someone could explain to me what is meant by “frequency of the beats�, I might actually have an answer to this question.

The bad news: He says it'd take him about half an hour just to do question #6, and he'd have to use the string theory equations from his 2nd year calculus course.
