Is a 177 too big for me?

no that looks about right, your still growing so its a good idea to go for a bigger ski rather than get stuck with a small one.

I had a thread somewhat like this, but dealing with whether 170 was too long. I'm sure you could find some good info. It's '175, too long???' or something like that in the ski equipment forum.

what are you using a 182 for? park? my 174s are fine, when im in powder i rent out a 185 but thats the bigest id go. 182 seems a little long for park, if thats what ure using em for.

It all depends on what you plan on doing with them... long skis aren't necessary in the park. Anywhere else, and they reeeeeeeally are.

Yeah long skis arent necessary for small ass jumps. But why do you think all the pro skiers that are at least 5'9 use a 182....cause when you go big a much bigger ski is soooo much more stable on landings. And the length doesnt matter cause when you are going big enough you have plenty of air time to get anything around. I used to live in indiana and at the time 175s were fine cause you never get more than 2 feet off the ground. Out here though Id always use at least a 182

well, im riding a 176 and a 180, i'm about 5 10 and 210 pounds. the 176 is my park ski, and thought it wouldve been a great length as long as it had been stiffer. my 180s on the other hand, are my fat skis and are amazing for trees and groomers.

i think a 177 would be pretty good for you, you still dont weigh very much, but you're relatively tall if you're still getting taller, so i think that a stiff 175-180 would be good.

its personaly preference, ride on different lengths, and see what you like

dave murray session 1 rocked..
