is 360 easy to do?

Not long ago I've learned to do 180. Then I've learned to do fakie 180.

It's a bit scary for me to try 360 but i want to do it. Any advices how to do? Do i need much air? Or do i need to spin fast enough?

Try them off very small 5fter jumps at first. When you hit the jump, (wind up too), turn your head the way you normally spin and just whip your body right around. At first you won't even know what happend and it is going to be the ugliest thing ever but it worked fine for me. Just keep praticing until you are comfortable with them than move up to bigger jumps.

i would actually disagree with ^ on the 5ft jump part.....go bigger your first time its easier to get the rotation down...try it on like a 15-20 ft. thats waht i did...you have more time to get around cause your not used to the rotation. commit your head and your skis will follow

And one more thing. Can I do 180 without spining the torso before jump. For example I take off streight, do some safety grab (i don't do other grabs yet) and then right before landing do 180 and land backwards. Is it worth of trying? Or will i definitly fail?

i dont think thats possible. you get the rotation becuase yorue wound up on the jump, and then you pop, and kind of push off. when youre in the air there isnt anything to push off of.

I don't deny there are bad things in the US right now, hell, 51% of the country to be exact. But god damnit, our country being fat is NOT a problem. I do't give a shit how fat people are. hell, fat kids are harder to kidnap, that means our country is safer.

i think 3s are easier than switch 180s, so just try it off of a small jump.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

you can do em off any jumps but its easier if you dant have to huck em so find a nice little 20 footer and look over the shoulder that you spin towards.

thats for democrats, and the stinkin liberals too

yeah just huck it

Just start huckin em off little stuff. You won't know your presence in the air much, but once you slow em down n get to bigger tables, you'll start to know where you are in the air and in correspondance to the table.

depends on the jump, but on bigger jumps all you have to do is turn your head the way you want to spin and keep it looking the way you want to go until you spot your landing. It's just like a 180, but dont stop your head, keep moving it around the other 180 degrees and your set.

yes its possible to do 180s like that they look sweet too. i dont know about with a safety, but do a tail or something and then just look behind you. after you look, just turn your body. it looks the best when you dont spin untill right before you land.

the problem that I have most of the time is not tucking up a bit, pencil steeze really doesnt help your rotation at all. I suggest trying it off smaller jumps first because bailing on large jumps can turn ugly!

Yeah switch 180s you just look over your shoulder and you naturally spin..

Its so easy to do them without any flailing or body movement. Smoooooth as fuck.

i learned it in my friends backyard, with hardly ne air at all, seems the way to do it, just find a small jump and just do it until u get it.

I ran out of material for a new sig

just find a tiny jump or a small drop and huck, or just stand on flat ground with ur skis on and trying spinning as much as u can, and then do that same thing off a little jump, but its easier to do 3s of huge jumps at fast speeds cause u dont have to huck, u just turn, so much easier and looks better

-------------------asp-------------------

^yeh build a little jump somewhere, then you dont have to worry about getting bashed for trying something.

also go into the park, and ask advice from someone who is throwing them down smoothly, then once u have a shot they can tell ya how ugly it was, how u could make it better, etc.

See, there's three kinds of people: dicks, pussies, and assholes. Pussies think everyone can get along, and dicks just want to fuck all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your assholes, Chuck. And all the assholes want us to shit all over everything! So, pussies may get mad at dicks once in a while because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes, Chuck. And if they didn't fuck the assholes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your dick and your pussy all covered in shit!

it depends how u think u are wit rotating...if u can rotate fast u can try it on a smaller jump but if u cant rotate fast go off a bigger one...i suggest a bigger one but its ur decision

15-20 is perfect, get it kinda mellow so you have good air time but you dont have to fly in towards the jump, just turn your torso and look over the shoulder you spin

with the 180 thing, its soooooooooooooooo smooth if you go about halfway in the air 90 degrees, and then at the end like pull it through into the full 180, a safety grab usually looks good, so come up, spin 90, and at the end bring it through the other 90.

yes 360s are very easy, but do them on like a 20 foot table first, its seriously much easier.

hit up the same jump over and over so you are real comfortable with it so you know how it throws you how much air you get off it. a table between 15-25 ft is probably best hit it and turn your head judt look for your landing and when you find it just wait to land. dont wind up and make sure you hunch over and stay low penciling it out is alot harder and looks dumb

just practice em off small bumps and stuff on the sides of trails, thats how i learned my first one, then take it to the tables

i leanred back in like, february last year, but then i started to lose it. my first times, i never had to wind up, but then, after a while, i had to start almost carving into it to get it around. is there anything wrong with that?

^same to me, i did them so easy on a '20 ft air 'groomed edge''. And now i am scared to throw em on 20 ft tables. dunno. I throw 180s wherever you wanna. no problem. 30ft- 50 ft no big probs. but i hate 360. For some reason i fear turning back from the switch posisition.

^yah dog you have to just look all the way around. when you do a 360, FORGET the 180 feel. its bullshit. cos you are in control the whole time and aware of your surroundings the whole time doing a 1. with a 3, its blur blur then spot your landing. you just have to keep looking.

Whats wrong with spinning off small shit?

I love riding around during my warm up runs before I hit the park..and spinning 180s n 360s and swithc stuff and buttering around off everything I can find.

Its fun to just do little stuff off all the little jumps n shit you find around.

Sorry for the threadjack. I was trying to pull a 360 off a kicker with a steep landing that we built today and I kept on bailing and hitting my head from beeing leaned too far back when I landed. Any tips or clues to improve on this issue and/or reasons why I am doing this. Thanks.

Think of how you are throwing youre 180's now. They should be smooth and drawn out. When you think about it, 180 degrees isn't a whole lot. So start on a decent sized jump, 15-25 feet, and throw a few 180's or straight airs to get the feel of the jump and see how much speed you need. The whole difference between a 180 and 360 in my opinion is just keeping your head turned. If you pop off enough, that extra 180 degrees should come around pretty naturally.

3's are easy, anything on a small jump is easy, hah we had a obsical course for the end of the year and there was a 2 foot jump, not really a jump just a lump of snow, i hucked it hard and got some 5's off it.

15-20 footer is good, not a big jump but easy enough to rotate the 3 without forcing it real hard.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.

nice smooth 180's are so sweet. get floaty controlled 3's and 180's down off big tables 40+ and itll be sickly

wind a long string around your waist and cruise at the jump. when you're just leaving the lip, pull the string really hard like a top and you'll have that 360 around in no time

this helped me:

when you're at home and bored, just start doing standing 360's on the ground. Make sure you concentrate and think about where you're going to land and spot the landing, thats half the battle when doing a 3. the other half is just getting the rotation around.

Yeah, the size of the jump doesn't really matter. Find one you're comfortable with and give it a shot. I learned to do it on a jump that was like 2 feet tall, then try and bring it bigger and slower. If you want try big and slow to start with, it's not particularily harder. just turn your head and 'reach with your eyes' til you sport the landing. Just don't think and try it, you're definitely ready for it.

I would try it on a descent jump you are comfortable with. The way that i learned to do them is wind up with your head and shoulders and spin your natural way when you get in the air look under your arm through your arm pit the way you are spinning to spot your landing.

^ Look under your arm? You know he is going to do a 360, but it isn't going to be right-side-up.

look over your shoulder, but aim your head slightly to the ground. That'll keep you from landing too backseat. But dont look under your armpit, we arent quite there yet

what your talking about is called a late 180. you could do your safety grab to 180 but it would be a little hard. you need to rotate a tiny bit while doing your safety.
