I realize what you are saying about the states and having all of these weapons themselves, but I seriously want to know if you honestly think that they are all of a sudden going to up and use them?
Tell me something. Do you like the police? When you drink in public or they pull you over you hate them right? Everyone does. Now think of this in global terms. The US are the police, and someone has to do it. So no one likes them. Why do we need global police? Ask Slobadan Miloscevic. Or maybe Kuwait. And many others. Policing isnt easy and someone has to do it, or you my friend wouldnt be reading this right now.
Are you scared that a police officer will ever just point their gun at you and fire. Not me. And like I already said, policing isnt easy. Whos telling the truth and who isnt. Who is crazy enough to fire back at the police when they are not looking? These are decisions that have to be made fast and yes, ever once in a while someone screws up. The States definetly arent perfect, but Im quite sure I would rather have them policing the globe, rather than my buddy Stallin, or Hitler.
Or would you prefer the States going back into their isolationist policies, as they were before the first world war? Well, they got ragged on then too, because the world didnt like how the US didnt contribute globally, and was isolationist.
I believe that over the next five years or so the Bush administration has pledged 13 billion to help the African aids crisis. Ohhhhhhh, but I thought the spent it all on their military. The military they have to have to protect themselves from the people who dont like the US mingling in other peoples business. Are you seeing the irony here? So the US, according to some, should not be allowed to be in others peoples business, which already explained, has to be done by somebody. So instead of putting more money towards actually helping other countries, which they really dont have to do to begin with, they have to put it into a military to protect themselves from people who dont like the fact that the US isnt 'minding their own business' in the first place. Yet at the same time have others complain about how little the US is doing to help the world, which like already said, doesnt have to be done in the first place. Is Iraq sending aid to Africa? Was Afganistan the first to send aid to Central America after thier massive hurricane. India or Pakistan? Some of the richest countries- Yemen or Saudia Arabia? Dont believe so. Its not their problem right? So why should they care. They are too busy doing some fucked up shit in their own countries, or trying to fight the plague- still. But heavens no, if the US or Nato or even the UN feels that something should be done, to in the long run, help that country.
This is just opinion here, but In my eyes this actually all boils down to religion. Not saying its good or bad, but this is what it seems: The muslim world is extremely faithful to what they believe in. If you believe in something, you think its the best and the way it should be. Now who has the better quality of life and standard of living? The west who are mainly Christian oriented, or the Middle east (muslim world.) Im not saying that either religion is better than the other, but it would seem that many muslim people feel jealousy, therefore, hatred toward the west, mainly the States, as their lifestyle is better, even though their beliefs, in a Islamic persons eyes, are not. I'll try to put this in simpler terms. Lets say you own a car, and you really like to race, and you believe with all your heart that your car is the best and nothing will beat it. Along comes someone who doesnt really seem to care overly much about their car and has devoted near as much time to making it good. Yet in a race you lose. This would piss you off right? Im thinking yes.
What im trying to say in this incredibly long rant is basically this. The US is in the right, and almost always are. Their current position as the worlds superpower puts them in circumstances where they are in no way able to please everyone, yet are working at common goal of making the world a better place.
