hi guys i'm form germany, yes the land your president loves so much at the moment, and it would be very interesting to hear your opinion about the irac conflict. how do you find the opiniom of you goverment? Is war really the right way and what do you think about the position of germany and france?

 
Simple opinions in the US are divided. Hlaf the country thinks its good, half the country is against the potential war.

Personally, I am against the war. In the end, it will accomplish nothing landmark and it will most likely create more US hatred overseas.

for the love of GOD no more iraq conflict threads. war is inevitable in this case. clinton turned his back on the issues bush is faced with today in order to boost the economy, which he successfully did (P.S. the economy was in a downturn before clinton left office and many people are unaware of that). so now bush must take care of the shit storm. of course people dont like him because they are blaming him for the negative times. whatever. people say OH NO we cant attack iraq cause there will be too many civilian casualties. i got a question for you. do you know who the kurds are? i admitt that civilian casualties do suck, but you know that saddam, in his reign of power, has killed over 130,000+ people (men woman and children). you know what i like to call that kids? genocide. the reason it doesnt get much publicity is because the iraqi gov't doesnt document it (gee i wonder why). but hey lets not go to war cause there will be more civilian casualties, lets just let saddam add to his kill # of 130,000+. at least he doesnt test weapons on his own people. at least they are not painful deaths. oh wait...here is another good one for ya-> saddam appointed his son to head up the iraqi olympic commitee. do you know what he does to iraqi olympians that lose?...he tortures them, murders them, rapes them, forces them to engage in sex with others of the same sex, rapes their wives, daughters (as young as 12 years old) etc, and he even amputates their limbs. saddam endorses this. thankfully the world olympic commitee has caught onto this and they are investigating the situation. but hey its all about the oil. and if we do go to war the muslim world will cave in on us. well fuck people....grow some fucking balls. put down your endo and fight for humanity. its so tragic that saddam makes his people believe (although some of the people are smart enough to see the truth) that he is a good person and that the US and UN are evils trying to take over the world in an imperialistic rage. its crazy what you can make people believe by controlling media etc. think about it...the people are starving and saddam throws some food at him and of course the people are going to love him. and dont bring up any of that propaganda shit in regards to the US because our media extremely unregulated. we can obtain news from any source in the world with no US affiliation. people in iraq cant do that so the people dont see the big picture. we (USA) were hoping that other countries would see where we are coming from, but unfortunately key countries dont. i believe currently spain and the UK are all we (USA) have, which is enough anyways, but obviously the UN is key. thus we are forced to declassify important information, which puts sources at serious risk. and if you think that our sources are all americans then you are wrong about that too. traditionally war does help the economy, but that is not the case this time...it will actually tax our economy even more so. already struggling airlines will have exponentially worse problems if we go to war, for obvious reasons. i'm not going to say that capitalism isnt a factor at all in our decision to go to war because that would be a lie. oil is important, but the iraqi supply is definately not our life support whatsoever as far as oil goes. incase you forgot, 130,000+ people is alot dont you think? fuck people....even if it was about the oil who gives a shit...this man is committing genocide. it must stop, again do you know the kurds?. and at least bush is stepping up to the plate in order to get things done.

THe united states shouldn't go ahead with an attack without un's support. If they dont have any rock solid evidence, they have no reason to attack. Personally (and dont attack me for this, i am not generalizing your nation, just your president ;)) i think that bush is a little 'trigger happy' and is looking for an excuse to make an attack. Just my opinion. dont go killing innocent people if you dont have rock solid evidence.

The UN will never get anything done. The UN is basically useless. No matter what, China will most likely never agree with the west. And they have veto power. Even looking past that the UN is slow. This war is enevitable. And the US knows this and figure they may as well get it over with. I dont think the UN has any relevance on the American govts decision. Its more about Nato now, and I think that the US would like all the members to be in agreement. There is more than just the UK and Spain supporting the states. The only countries not supporting are Germany, France and Belgium I believe. At least they are not Chretien and can make any decisions. I must reiterate this for all who are against Bush. First of all Bush has less power in his country than Chretien does, and if you think Bush is a bad leader, just come on up here for a while.

Unfortunately, after the war, the muslim world will probably hate the States even more, but you have to start somewhere. All of the worlds biggest problems have arose from the do nothing attitude. And for those who think war is not the best answer, what is? Id like to hear it. Do you need more proof? How about the fact that Saddam didnt let inspectors in in the first place. Maybe he just doesnt like Hanz? Or could that have been him stalling for time? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

i woke up this morning, went upstairs and ate and msnbc is on and theres this really bitchy anchor (alex witt or somthin) and shes intervieewing an iraqi journalist that is in the UN building in NYC, and shes actin like hes the spawn of satan for no reason at all, from what i could tell he was a nice guy and all and she was subliminaly acusing him of being a spy and shit for iraq.

no matter how many threads are posted about this subject, they turn into arguing matches between SUPilot and someone else. SU, chill out brotha. don't go attacking everyone if they are wrong, seem to be wrong, seem to be idiots, seem to be absolutly right or are just stating their opinion. makes for a better conversation. and two, bush is a little trigger happy, our bombs are more precise so we can minimize civilian losses, those people being human shields, what would have happened had the UN found that saddam was in violation and gave permission to attack? they would be idiots to be in the area then, even if they don't agree with war, this is about oil, to a point, germany and france need to look at what is going on in iraq and take heed (yes, even though mr. blix said those trucks didn't appear to be nuke cleanups, although he did say that sources for stuff needs to be kept a secret and iraq WAS AND IS in violation of UN sanctions having not accounted for biological and nuclear items on the list from 1991.

Some thoughts:

Donald Rumsfeld's (sp?) comments about those uncompliant three countries (France, Germany, and Belgium) was very interesting. Since when is overwelming majority a factor in responsible political desision making? While there may be valid reasons for a NATO build-up in Turkey, I find it interesting that Rumsfeld choose the global version or peer presure to pursue his goals when stratigic evidence could have been just as uneffective. Sorry I can't find a copyandpastable source to back this up, but I trust my memory, so SUpilot, if you please go fetch me his speach, I'm sure you'll see what I mean.

And about hating America, you can surely understand why it would impossible for you to understand. Imagine an SS solider of the Third Reich not supporting his goverment, it almost as absurd as US fighter-pilot not support the administration.. I'm afaird there's a slight conflict of interest when it comes to the orientaion of your opinion. I'm not saying that the US in the new Nazi Germany, merely that there's a strong similarity when you consider to difference in times, and the freedom with which information is passed around the world. oh, and another message i forgot to mention, the media isn't about reporting facts anymore. they want ratings, viewers, so they make up stories, reach very far to get a story or make up false information to make it interesting. there aren't any media values anymore. so it would be nice to have a source on world events that isn't biased or wants ratings, just wants to provide honest answers to what's going on.

I notice the same damn thing every political thread. We have 10 or so people who bitch back and forth with useless mis-facts and rants which have been taken care of in other threads, then people with actual things to say (TAK, Gravteck, etc.) come, and everyone ignores them.

Let me explain this to you. ALMOST ALL OF YOU ARE ALWAYS WRONG ABOUT ALMOST EVERYTHING.
