What is everyone using to hook up their iPod to their car? FM transmitters? Cables? Other?

I know this doesn't really help, but carI don't even have a car yet, but for the mean time I'm using some saturn car.

if you have an old car...you can buy a thing that you stick in headphone jack of your ipod.. that goes into the casset thing in your car

Easiest thing to do would be to get a FM transmitter. They cost $40-$80 and usually they will also charge your iPod as you listen to it. The other option is to hardwire an iPod input into you stock radio. They isnt an option on for all makes and models, but it will provide better sound quality than an FM transmitter. They are harder to install and usually will run you a little more money. Lastly, you could just upgrade your deck in the car for around $200 and get a FM/AM/CD/MP3/WMA cd player, that has an auxiliary input.

anyone know if its possible to listen to music via bluetooth on a 2nd gen ipod touch cause i know they have bluetooth capabilities and u are supposedly able to use bluetooth headphones so i was wondering about cars w bluetooth capabilities

Should be able to. Ive sync'd my phone, which I play music on, to nav units and bluetooth cd decks before in a few cars.

Quality on FM transmitters is horrible. Run a cable to the CD or AUX input in the back of your headunit then get a dock connector hooked up to that (Griffin or similar) and route that somewhere in front or your gear stick.

the best way is to get a new deck that is ipod ready that has a usb port and then you just plug in your ipod and can completely control it from your deck it is the best way

casset player is the easiest by far

doesn't get fucked up if the radio gets messed up. its a constant clear sound.

i bought a casette thing at the dollar store for 2 bucks. it sounds like shit though

my cassette ipod player works great. constant perfect sound. maybe you should go to best buy and get a decent one for like $10. may be a little better then the one you just got

fm transmitters will run you about $20 for an ok one to over $100 for a good one that dicks your ipod and charges it at the same time.

a cassette to headphone input will be $15 to $20 and is very crisp, the best way to plug in your ipod/mp3 player if you dont have an auxiliary input

or you could get an RCA(thats a brand) deck for like $70 and it will have a aux in and a usb port to charge it
