ok, so i know im getting a 30 gig ipod for christmas.

now, my only delema is that my computer is a piece of shit (definition of "piece of shit" - a 95 dell with windows 98 software and dial up MSN 9)

sooooo, the computer cant handle movies and pictures only work sometimes. ive come to reason with the fact that there is no way in hell that i would be able to download limewire or itunes and be able to use it.

good news: my parents are buyinbg new computer w/ all the bells and whistels in january or february. (windows vista and dsl)

soooooo. my question is: in the time that i dont have my new computer, can i put my transmitter cable-thingy into someone elses computer and download thier music onto my ipod?

if so, can i run the risk of breaking the ipod?

I think when you get music off your friends computer it has to delete your itunes library to put them on your computer or something gay like that, but since you would start from scrtach, yes, I'd say get it all figured out at a friend's house who has the latest itunes, get their music, and enjoy that until you can get a library built on your parents' new computer.
