I was browsing the newschoolers forums when all of a sudden itunes crashes and my ipod tries to reinstall itself. I quickly un-plug it to find every single song on it erased... Fuck you Apple! Thanks a lot...

Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone know if there is just a simple button to click that restores it? Or am I going to have to re-copy every song.

Thanks

h amy freinds shuffle gave his computer a virus, and then it said that is was not capable of playing music files, so he smashed it with a hammer. my ipod is good tho

itunes is the worst media player ever created.

and i have an ipod.

yeah that happened to mine i had to put them all back on...

-couple days later ipod broke

-couple days later whole my comptuer crashed and i lost all my music

... if it makes you feel any better

I put all the songs back on, then I took it out the proper way, with the eject button and all that other shit. Go to artists then songs... and what do you know empty... then when I plug it back in, it tries to instal itself again... whats with this dumb peice of shit.

Ipod's are peices of shit, im sure children in taiwanese sweatshops can make better mp3 players then apple.

where do you thgink iPods are made?

all you have to do is reset the Ipod (not by holding the buttons). there should be an ipod software updater on your comp and you have to reset it from there. Ipods are like miniature computers, so just like full sized comps, they go haywire and you have to push a button and wait a few minutes for it to fix itself.

same thing happened to me but i wasnt connected to anything it just happened. lost all 10,000 songs too that shit pissed me off evan more than the fact that apple wouldnt fix it cuase it was out of waranty

yeah mine comitted suicide and i DIDNT have all my songs on my computer. that wasn't fucking cool. apple is sending me a new one though, with a difference of $60. i guess thats worth it. but i lost all my fucking music. fuck.

yeah my itunes erased itself and wouldnt open but i just reset my computer back to a previous date and it worked somehow.

WHAT TO DO IF IPOD ERASES LIBRARY:

1.Plug iPod into PC.

2.Open Windows Explorer and go to your iPod.

3.Navigate to the iTunes folder on your iPod.

4.You most likely will notice that the iTunesDB file is 0 bytes. Luckily, there will be a backup one called .OLD. Delete iTunesDB and rename iTunesDB.OLD to iTunesDB.

5.Eject iPod. Ensure that your music is back.

Let me know if that works for you, it has worked for me multiple times.

Ah, where were you yesterday when I needed this lol?

I restored my ipod to it's default settings and copied all the songs back onto it.

Thanks for the help tho, i'll keep it for future reference.

that sucks.

at least it wasn't stolen though, i can name about 10 kids who have had their ipods stolen from them. not lost, stolen.

but anyway, that sucks.

ahahah!!! i'm laughing right now because that happened to me and i wanted to strangle someone

so...HAHAHAHA!!
