Ok so I made a quick shitty tutorial video, but it should be enough to show you how to build this.

You will need an adapter that looks like this. It is a Compact flash to Zif ribbon adapter 1.8.

Which can be purchased through my business partner Ricky So. He has some in his ebay store so check them out. Very reasonable and work well! (some guy in GB was trying to sell these adapters for 50 pounds!) Store ----> http://stores.ebay.com/shop-maxorigin

Next you will need a compact flash card. I bought a 16 GB card from http://www.meritline.com/adata-16g-cf-card-speedy.html

You will also need a small flat head tool and something to pry apart the ipod (again, some small thin tool to separate the ipod shell)

Just be patient and don't proceed at a certain step if you don't know what to do.

Message me and I can help trouble shoot you through the process. We can Ichat if you have the ability and work it through together or over the phone/email or something.

Illin'

Taking apart iPods will be a good summer project. In the past, I've changed an old iRiver H340 to an H360 by putting a new hard drive in, formatting it and flashing the firmware, but I'm not sure what iPods are like. Definitely something I'm gonna try.

Just wondering, will CF cards over 16GB work? 48 and 64GB ones have been released this year, maybe they're not as quick as the smaller CF cards but flash is still much quicker than HDD. It'd be sweet to have a 64GB flash iPod - so fast, holds a ton still, and you dont have to worry about it breaking.

And I know some people were interested in having me build them one...still happy to do it. Just let me know.

Thanks.
